The Discovery center has interesting history about the area and many trails that are easy to walk. I highly recommend stopping by as it is free.

This is a very educational place. They also have short and easy trails. We took the nature walk and our guide was very knowledgable about the surroundings. It's a place for the young and the old.

Nice center with historical references and museum like setting. Very friendly staff. Local hike trails are
Mapped and you can pick up your adventure passes if needed for parking. I enjoy visitor/information centers like this but others may not. Added bonus is an amphitheater where you can catch concerts if you plan accordingly.

This info center is very small, way smaller than I expected. The exhibition was interesting. Also, the trail behind the center was a bit disappointing which was packed with dry plants only.

Super knowledgeable staff. Friendly and accommodating. Nice quick trail in the back for an introductory hike in the area. Great place to begin your trip and plan your big bear adventure. Make this your first place!
