“Informative Nature Walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2013

We had a little bit of time so we traveled across the lake to visit the Discovery Center just in time for the nature walk. Very informative and guide very helpful about the area. We would have loved to return for the snow shoe tour.

“Fun place to stop and explore”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

This is a great place to explore the area and get to know where to go in Big Bear. There is a really nice gift shop inside and a snack bar. The snack bar is not that good, so I would save your money and wait. The staff is really friendly and we will stop in again!

“Great place to start your hike!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012

The friendly staff showed where we were on the map, advised us of wintry weather blowing in. There is a cool video that loops so you can step in to learn a little bit more about Big Bear history and leave at your convenience. The gift shop is well stocked w/ standard scientific toys, magnets, cards, patches, hiking medallions, and so on. A key benefit FREE PARKING if you plan to hike Cougar Crest Trail from there you needn't pay for the park pass.
