“A relaxing tour of the lake”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

A great way to enjoy the surrounding area from the water and take great lake photos.
There is an enclosed salon (heated during cooler weather), if you have difficulties climbing stairs, we recommend the salon, the stairs to the first deck are steep.
Refreshments and snacks are provided for sale.
There are restrooms onboard.
While the ride is usually very smooth, if you suffer from motion sickness be prepared just in case.
Even in the summer I recommend bringing a light jacket/windbreaker as it does get chilly on the water. Parents, make sure your children are dressed comfortably. Bring sunglasses and sunscreen.
We enjoyed a close look at the solar observatory.
It's was a fun outing, narrated (a bit overdone at times) with lots of photo opportunities.

“Excellent Boat Tour of Big Bear Lake, CA”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2012

We took the 90-minute paddle wheel boat tour of Big Bear Lake. "Capt. Jack" was a pleasant and informative narrator during the tour. Fortunately the weather was just beautiful during our outing and the open-air seating on the upper deck was great. We were under the canopy and out of the sun while the breeze made the whole trip a joy. The lower deck is inside with windows to protect one from the elements if required. The Capt. tells you about the history of the lake, the dam and neighboring communities like Fawnskin, etc. The seating consists of plastic lawn chairs, but it's only for 90 minutes and they are more than adequate from a comfort perspective. They do have galley with sandwiches, soft drinks and beer and the prices are very reasonable.

“Fun, relaxing excursion for all ages!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2012

We were on a full boat and sat upper deck with plenty of opportunity to take photos. This is fun for little ones, seniors or those of any age. Our narrator, Captain Dennis, was knowledgeable & full of amusing quips. It was very affordable & I'd do it again with others on our next visit. A good way to relax for an hour or so and see the lake. They have coupons online for $2 off, if you're so inclined & also offer senior discounts.

“Not worth the money”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2012

We paid $85 apiece for what was touted as a lake tour, appetizers, drinks (soft and coffee) and a spot on the lake to watch the fireworks. They did keep the number of passengers down from 100+ to 60, but they let us on late, didn't leave the dock on time due to lighting problems, and almost suffocated us with diesel fumes from a blown motor. We had no tour of the lake due to time constraints.

The staff was friendly but ineffective. The boat was clean but having problems. The party favors were okay. The "3-D" glasses made the fireworks even more spectacular, but the megaphones were a bit silly.

We apologize for the poor cruising conditions and the inability to offer a cruise the lake last 4th of July. We admit that we were having some mechanical issues that week which caused some delays and an unpleasant smell, however the Miss Liberty Cruise received a complete engine overhaul this off-season and we are proud to say that the cruise is at the highest level of quality service she has ever seen.

We invite you to try us out again so that we can show off our best side. We are offering another Fourth of July fireworks viewing tour (just the fireworks and no full lake tour) this year for a little less ($80 per seat)... without the problems of last year! Check out our site for more information.

“The Next Best Thing to Having Your Own Boat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2012

If I take any more trips on this tour boat, I could probably give the monologue of all the shoreline sights - that's how many times we've taken it. The main advantage of the Miss Liberty compared to the two smaller tour boat that ply Big Bear Lake is it's sheer size, and the fact that it has a head (bathroom) on board - A nice feature to keep in mind when you are on a 90-minute tour.
The captain is very knowledgeable, having lived in the area his whole life. He does crack the same jokes every time, which I can recite before he says them. Overall, it is a very pleasant trip to take. Earlier is better than late afternoon, if possible, because it does blow up a bit in late afternoon.
We will continue to take this trip a couple times a year because we enjoy it that much. Plus, it’s a lot cheaper than having your own boat!
