Bear Creek Resort

Bear Creek Resort was our first cabin rental. 4 adults, 4 kids (7-14 in age) and 2 small dogs. The cabin, #30 was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Grounds and pool were safe and clean. Office staff were friendly, helpful, and informative! i would definitely recommend it and go again. We generally stay in 4 star hotels when traveling and this location was great overall. The only negative was the #30 unit did not have AC. The resort website stated AC. The days we were there it was 90 degrees. The downstairs was perfect. The upstairs bedroom was pure hell. It was easily 90+, no exaggerating. Again I called the front desk and the girl that answered said the room thermostats were only for heating. There was no AC. TO be exact, she said "most cabins in Big Bear do not have AC". Though the windows opened as the website states, because they were not in line with each other, the hot air did not circulate through like downstairs. Downstairs was perfect. Not till 3 am was the upstairs room reasonable for sleeping. This was very disappointing. Also, #30 is the closest unit to the Big Bear Blvd. Traffic noise was an issue Wi-fi was complimentary but was weak and not always working. Giving the resort the benefit of the doubt that they do have AC as posted on there site, it would be wise to confirm if the cabin you are reserving actually does. 2 nights in "Satan's bedroom" did put a damper on a perfect resort location.

We spent an extended weekend (taking advantage of a third night free stay!), with our son and daughter-in-law and two little dogs. We shared a cute, comfortable two-bedroom cabin, with full kitchen. The weather was perfect, the location quiet and safe for walking the dogs. The amenities and staff were outstanding. We enjoyed premium TV and were but a short drive from the lake and village. Great three-day weekend! Will definitely stay there again.

My sister had a wedding at Bear Creek in May 2010. There were about 400 people that showed. Amazingly everything went great. The hotel staff was organized and ready for the event. Whenever we needed ANYTHING they were right there! I can't say enough about the excellent staff. It was a great experience.
The wedding was held on the lot under a beautifully decorated gazebo. The chairs were arranged so that everyone could see the ceremony. The reception was held right across the walkway in a white tent that was decorated beautifully. The cake was made by Sugar Pines bakery that is located right across Big Bear Blvd. Sugar Pine bakery has a variety of tasty goodies! There's also a mexican restaurant across the street that has great food. The whole experience was amazing.
My husband and I returned for the 4th of July for some relaxation and fun. We each received a massage. It felt great and the atmosphere was relaxing. I forgot where I was for a while. My husband fell asleep during his massage (which is a compliment to a massage therapist).
I will definitely be returning to this hotel!

We ventured up to Big Bear with our two westies and were pleasantly greeted by the staff at Bear Creek Resort. The cabins have all been recently updated and reflect a nice casual atmosphere. Clean, efficient and perfect...my words for the weekend and also one of the few places we have stayed that were very welcoming for pets.

We actually had a decent stay - it wasn't until I returned home and found out that after paying over $400 for a weekend stay they had charged my credit card an additional $250 charge. They claimed we smoked in the room - which we did NOT!!! And even if we had the documents I signed stated there was a $150 charge for smoking in the room - NOT $250!!
They also said we left trash in the room - which we did. However, I have stayed in hotels all over the country and have never been charged $100 for failing to remove trash!! All we left was some uneaten food in the fridge and trash in the GARBAGE CAN!! These people are running a scam and as far as I am concerned they are nothing more than thieves!!
The woman in the front office, Jacqueline, was one of the rudest people it has been my misfortune to come across! They really need to be more careful who they hire, as the front desk people are representing their business.
I would highly recommend you keep driving when you see this hotel!!!

As stated by the guest in this review, she did have a decent stay. Referencing her BedandBreakfast.com review prior to this one, she stated she had a "FABULOUS" stay and loved the cabins. Unfortunately three days after check out and numerous phone calls by our Manager regarding the condition of the room, this review was posted because of the additional charges.

Bear Creek Resort has spent over a half million dollars to renovate the property. All of the rooms are completely remodeled. Every cabin is freshly painted, new tiled flooring and carpet. All furnishing and bedding are brand new. We strive for a top level of cleanliness and customer satisfaction. In turn we uphold a ZERO tolerance to ANY smoking within the cabins. This is for the benefit for our future guests, who appreciate that we uphold this so that they may enjoy the "SMOKE FREE" accommodations we provide.

Every guest is given a copy and asked to sign our Lodge rules, which this guest did sign. Within the rules it is stated that a $ 150.00 fee will be charged if the "NO SMOKING" policy is broken. In this case it was!! The claim for a medical necessity is not a viable reason to smoke in our cabin.

When this guest was originally contacted regarding the extra charges, she first denied that there had been any smoking in the cabin, then changed her story and stated that it was a medical necessity for those in her party.

The additional charge of $100.00 came due to the excessive trash and filth the cabin was left in. Again the policy was signed by the guest at time of check in.

Please do not let this review sway your opinion of our staff or facility and refer to previous reviews left by our completely satisfied guest who have upheld our policies and "RAVED" about Jaqueline our other staff members and accommodations of Bear Creek Resort.

Our 1st trip to Big Bear Lake Ca and the cabin we stayed in was a big part of a memorable trip. The resort is pet friendly but my husband isn't especailly (except to ours). The cabin was CLEAN and you'd never know anyone with a pet had stayed there. We had a 2 bedroom which worked for us despite being only 2 plus dog. We saw a 1 bedroom and it would have been a bit small for us. Every amenity was there; I packed to eat in because of the dog and could have easily in that kltichen. But a fantasic Mexican restaraunt (pet friendly) was within walking distance as was a brew pub we didn't make it to. Beds were COMFORTABLE and crisp cotton sheets the BEST. Hosts FRIENDLY & HELPFUL.

Perfect location for our mountain biking weekend. Two bike shops along the way to Snow Summit. Can walk to the Village for dinner and shopping. Husband most excited to find a brewery couple doors down from cabin. Room was clean and all linens appeared fresh. Continental breakfast was nice, filling and pretty healthy. Property very well maintained. Pool was heated and felt great after a long day's ride. Only issue was the mattress, little too soft for our backs. Staff very attentive and nice. We are definitely planning another trip to Big Bear this year and will be staying at this Resort!
