Cabin PROS –
1.Kitchen – Has all the amenities/cooking utensils you need. Large kitchen table. However, 2 of 6 wood chairs are broke and will collapse when sat on at any moment.

Cabin NEGATIVES – posted backwards because #1 is too important to NOT read first
1.Filthy cabin - we finally enter the cabin. What a shock. The cabin was covered with cob webs from top to bottom…on the walls, ceilings, in the bathrooms, in the bedrooms, baseboards and in the kitchen. The linens on ALL beds were NEVER changed from previous guests and spiders were in the pillow cases on one of the beds. Blankets were tossed on the closet floor. It looked like the cleaners pulled the blankets up over the mattresses and walked away. The carpet on all levels was dirty and never vacuumed from previous guests. Minus the spiders in the bathroom, both were clean.
2.3 Level Cabin with very steep stairs to level 2 and 3. 1st floor is living room, laundry room, bathroom/ bedroom. 2nd floor is kitchen, dining room, bedroom/bathroom. 3rd floor is loft.
3.Again, who’s ever job it is to clear the property of snow did NOT do their job. The stairs that lead to the front door was knee high packed with snow. I expected to arrive to walk in the cabin. Not arrive to shovel snow. Oh but they do have snow shovels on hand for your convenience.
4.If arriving in the winter - Cabin driveway is a very narrow long "tandem" parking space literally between 2 huge pine tree trunks and with a pretty good slope. My husband’s truck literally slide into one of the pine trunks because the driveway was not cleared properly of snow and ice. We finally got the truck unstuck and it took an hour for the guy to arrive to throw gravel down. We ended up parking on the front side of the cabin where the front door is but had to move quickly to avoid being towed.

Overall impression – The cabin needs a deep cleaning; new beds; new couches - the mattresses are horrible on ALL beds; couches are worn out down to the springs and DO NOT HAVE A PULL OUT BED. There is only 1 T.V. in the cabin which worked fine. Heater downstairs works great but heater up stairs does not work well. We froze throughout the night. Cabin needs some serious cleaning and TLC. It is most definitely NOT worth the rental amount. Valentine, from the rental office immediately sent her top cleaning crew to cabin. We had to leave for 2 hours after just arriving but the guy and his did a fantastic job.

I did a video of the place here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynBP_vuUtgA

Stayed 3 nights in this cabin (called Bear Comfy) it is a bit outdated and a bit run down but comfy non the less.

We paid 290 a night and got the third night free. 80 cleaning fee was charged us and a 40 dollar processing fee.

A LITTLE DITTY ABOUT THE CABIN:
The heat worked well in the front and since the heater is connected to one of the other bedrooms, it makes the room super hot. The far bedroom and bathroom are cold and could use a little space heater for the back bedroom to balance.

The cabin is located in a nice quiet area (town). It had a fully functioning kitchen and was fully stocked. It was a spacious place, good water pressure, had hot water, washer and dryer inside the back bedroom.

CONS:
1. TV remote didn't work so if we wanted to change the channel, we'd have to go over to the box and press the buttons.

2. The living room has a pull out mattress you can sleep on but it is very thin and sinks (caves) to the middle.

3. The back bedroom is constantly cold and doesn't get too warm because all the heat stays up front. A small space heater would solve this problem.

Worked out well for us and we would stay again.

We stayed here for 1 night, visiting from Australia, after driving from Las Vegas back to LA our 2 sons wanted to see snow, we drove into Big Bear not expecting to stay, we were delighted that it had snowed the night before and drove past Cozy Cabins, stopped at the office for a overnight price and was greeted by friendly staff and a reasonable price. We were delighted with our very clean and comfortable cabin, if we have the opportunity to visit Big Bear again we would be more than happy to stay in these cabins again.

Big Bear Cozy Cabins
Stayed at one of there cabins over Valentines day weekend - Way over priced and the extra fees are straight out ridiculous. Our heater went out, waited 2 hours for a person to come out. He got there and looked at some stuff. Said it was the thermostat. Said he would go get one. I thought he had it in his truck. 15 minutes later I go out side and he is gone - Never came back. Left a family with no heat @ 22 degrees overnight. Management told me they would move me if he wasn't back by 6 and give them a call. Guess what? The office was closed when I called back. Spent most of the night re-lighting the heater. Was happy to leave the next day. Kinda a bummer so be forewarned people!

This is a repost of what I wrote on yelp:

Terribly overpriced. The cabin itself was OK. Nothing special, not bad either. As the reviewer Katy P. stated, "their added fees to everything are RIDICULOUS." While using the jacuzzi at the cabin (which was dirty before we even first used it), the plastic heads to the jets came off due to the slightest touch. The company charged my party more than $400 afterwards claiming 10 "broken" jets and that the jacuzzi required a "deep cleaning," although it was dirty before we ever used it.

Will NEVER use this company again, and recommend you don't either.

First, these are not cheap cabins. We made reservations to check-in on Sun. After we had made the reservations, and paid, we were told the office would be closed when we arrived so we needed to pick up our check-in info at another business, and pay $10.00 to do so.

They charge $150.00 cleaning fee. You are asked to leave the cabin exactly as you found it, and take all your own trash into town, where the dumpsters are. What could cost $150.00 to clean??
There were cobwebs on the celing, the gas B B Q grill didn't work, we had to call out maintenance the 1st day because all the outside lights were out, (it's VERY dark up there) a SPA man came out on the 2nd day to clean the SPA with no notice, and on the 3rd day he came back to clean the cabin, (we were checking out the NEXT day). And the directions they gave were very wrong to get to the cabin. The cabin its self--very nice and cozy, For the price I prefer not to have the aggravation.

I reserved a one-night stay for our family of six at the "Country Cottage" 1 bedroom/loft/1 bath cabin in Big Bear Lake through Big Bear Cozy Cabins. The cabin was everything that was expected EXCEPT we had an ant problem that wigged-out my wife, and all the office could do was tell me that it's a common problem in the mountains. Additionally, the website said specifically that the cabin had cable TV. The cable was there, but obviously the owner had not been paying for it (I called and it was verified by the office). This could've been a HUGE problem with four american kids wanting a little TV break in between sledding and eating... luckily we brought a nice assortment of DVDs and game system.

Bottom line, nice but ineffective customer service, and false advertising.

I must say what attracted us to BBCC was that you can often rent for just one night... good for a family on a tight budget.
