Reviewed June 3, 2014

We have just come back from the Beverly Hills Hotel and it’s our 3rd visit to the hotel this year from the UK.
We like LA it’s a fun and sociable place but we love the hotel more than anything and that's the reason we keep going back to LA.
The staff are very helpful and warm, it has the luxury of a 5 star hotel but is very personal and not over the top, we are just ordinary people who work hard and there are obviously very influential people who stay at the hotel but we can honestly say that we do not feel out of place, the staff have a way of making you feel very comfortable.

The food is excellent whether it be in the Fountain room, the Polo Lounge or room service.
Without the staff the hotel would not be as unique as it is they are wonderful.

Ruth, Denise, Jerry, Horrario, Gloria and the other staff in the Fountain bar are wonderful. Brian (security) is lovely, The Welsh man & Branden on the main desk are always very helpful, the cleaners, the valet man are always very pleasant and this time we met Jimmy who works at the bar in the Polo Lounge, he was great fun.

We are not political but would like to point out that a lot of the oil in the cars in America comes from Saudi, let’s see if the hypocrites who boycott the hotel start riding around on push bikes.

There’s a fine line in sticking to what you believe in and hurting others in the process, you can’t boycott a hotel because it is owned by a man who chooses to practice a law in his own country and use the oil to drive your car from another country that practice the same laws that you are supposedly against that’s hypocritical.

The Sultan of Brunei is so rich he‘s probably forgotten he owns the hotel haha, he is not pushing his beliefs on the staff or the Clients who go to the hotel and the only people who will suffer will be the hard working staff who rely on the custom of the hotel.

The pink palace lived up to expectations dahlink!
It was opulent, old world glamour and very pink!
Our room was comfortably appointed with a large, pink tiled bathroom, overlooking the pool.
The service was excellent and all the staff were friendly and helpful, particularly our limo driver who was kind and charming.
We had room service breakfast which arrived on time and was delicious.
We agree with the previous reviewer - put your politics on hold and support the hard-working staff here.

I have been here twice before, coming every few years. The hotel's front desk did not recognize me as a returning guest. We were upgraded to a bungalow suite (from a bungalow deluxe room) because the guest in the room took a late checkout. Our room was lovely, although I thought that a suite in a hotel of this caliber should have a standing shower and a bidet. Food is excellent, both at the pool and at the Polo lounge for breakfast. Staff seemed to enjoy seeing our two little monsters ages 6 and 8 enjoying the property. I enjoyed a treatment at the spa, but noted that the shower in the changing area didn't have hot water. The gym is adequate but surprisingly small for this kind of hotel; i noticed the same at the Bel-Air last year. Dorchester doesn't seem to put a priority on this amenity. The pool area is superb and our kids had a great afternoon there. Our kid lost a set of goggles under some towels that were picked up; we noticed 15 minutes later that it was missing. The pool staff was very friendly throughout the afternoon but nobody really tried to find the goggles for us and I had to replace them after we got home. This is one of those things you hope people will attend to in a fine hotel that does not have a huge pool area compared to other hotels. Also, I noticed several times that I would call an internal extension on the phone and nobody would answer. When we left in a taxi to the airport, nobody told us that there is a flat rate fare in effect and the taxi driver charged us the amount on the meter which was $10 more. I made a call to the hotel concierge to let them know about it after I got home and they said that their practice is generally to warn people entering taxis on the way to the airport. Beware if it happens to you. There are some kinks in this place if you look carefully at the little things, but overall it remains an excellent property.

Dear ivanciment,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at The Beverly Hills. It was a pleasure welcoming your family back for a third visit and it's great to know that there were many aspects of your stay that were very positive and memorable. But I am very disappointed to learn of the variety of frustrations you experienced during your stay with us. From the lack of hot water in the spa shower, to the lost goggles, to the non-answered internal calls, these service errors are unacceptable. Please know that we are very grateful for any feedback our guests are kind enough to provide us with as it is only in this way that we are able to continually improve the overall experience we provide our guests. I will be sure to follow up with the team on all of the issues mentioned in your review to best ensure that we improve upon these shortcomings and prevent them from happening in the future.

I hope that we have an opportunity to welcome you and your family back in the near future. Thank you again for your candid feedback regarding your recent stay.

We chose to stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel to celebrate a 50th birthday. We had 5 couples staying at the hotel primarily in the Bungalows. The service, the attention to our needs, the spectacular location and grounds, and the facilities, made this a truly memorable experience. This is truly one of the top hotels in the world.

Recently I had the privilege of staying overnight in a bungalow at the BHH. The property - from when you first arrive to the time you are departing (and experiencing pangs of sadness as you had such a great time) is simply hard to put into words. The people - Bellmen, Front Desk, Concierge, Housekeeping, and food services - amazingly well trained in the art of anticipating your needs, meeting/exceeding them, and doing so in a way which makes you feel part of the storied history of the facility. The property is lovely. It keeps a unique balance between its old roots and modern needs of a high quality facility. The grounds alone are worth the time to walk around - the staff truly enjoys keeping the many bushes, flowers, hedges, and trees in fine form. The bungalow is truly a delight - large bath, large room, and an outdoor private terrace. You really feel as though you are in a fine suburban home. The variety of food and drink is excellent: both in terms of taste and value. In short - you have hundreds of choices of places to stay in the LA area - but there truly is only one spot which pampers you, and truly finds you feeling bad when you leave: the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Room Tip: Take a bungalow - a bit more expensive but ahhh - well worth every dollar!

my husband and i are checking out in 1/2 an hour after our 3 day weekend stay-cation...and yes we're a married gay couple. come and support one the hardest working hotel staffs in the world...in addition to enjoying this 100 year old hotel's rich (and i mean RICH) history. if you're going to boycott every business whose owner's politics you don't agree with, you'll never leave your house. our bungalow room was great but next time we can afford it we'll upgrade to a suite. all the bungalows are very private as they are stretched out along a winding path with so much foliage that you can't see what's 30 feet ahead of you. the staff from check in to 1/2 hour before check out was absolutely one of the best and friendliest. also we both had one of our best spa experiences at their spa. one thing i'd add to the hotel: rather than the unexciting tv channel that shows the pool reconstruction on an unending loop, why not get together with TCM and have robert or even ben put together a 24-hour lineup of classic films that star some of the hotel's more interesting and talented guests??? also skip the "fountain coffee shop" the food was not great and the coffee is pumped out of a thermos and not hot enough. but DO get the room service as all of that food was very good.

Room Tip: book ahead. our room went up $300 after we first booked it.

Dear brewsterstravels,

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay at The Beverly Hills Hotel. We are thrilled to hear you and your husband enjoyed your stay with us … from the glamorous history, to your bungalow, to your experience in the spa. It's also wonderful to know that you felt well cared for by our great team of service professionals. All of the employees are very grateful for your support and kind words. Now more than ever, it means the world to us and I must extend a heartfelt thank you on behalf of our entire team.

We truly appreciate your feedback regarding the TV channel. We will certainly look into this and determine what we can do to improve the lineup. I am also disappointed to hear your comments on The Fountain Coffee Shop. We do have coffee thermos out before the cafe opens in order to accommodate our guests that are up early, but there is no point in serving coffee if it is not hot enough. I will follow up with our food and beverage team to make sure this is remedied. Above all, please know that we value and appreciate your feedback, as it is only in this way that we are best able to improve upon our shortcomings.

We hope to welcome you back to the hotel in the near future.

We came to the Beverly Hills Hotel after a weeks stay at the Beverly Wilshire.

The Beverly Hills Hotel blew the Wilshire out of the water.

It is elegant, relaxed and has that little touch of old school glamour that so many hotels have lost in favour of all out minimal modernism.

The rooms are set in bungalows in lush green and impeccably kept gardens. They are cosy and beautiful with gorgeous views the of the grounds.

The hotels beautiful courtyard restaurant serves the most delicious breakfast and fresh delicious salads at lunch. It's beautiful setting and live pianist finish off the experience perfectly.

The pool is large, very private and surrounded by trees, lots of space for sun beds and with a lovely covered restaurant area.

All in all a beautiful experience with exceptional staff.

Eleven out of ten.

Room Tip: go for a bungalow
