beware any uk visitors to this (and any other american/hawaii) hotel. the rate quoted on website does not include taxes. we were quoted 298 dollars per night. our bill added occupamcy surcharge 5 dollars and room occupancy tax 42 dollars per night. our hire car cost 42 dollars to rent and 70 dollars to park! there is no complimentary self parking here. there are meters one block from the hotel but the desk told us there is no overnight street parking allowed anywhere in bevely hills. the meters and signs did not make this clear. public parking was available at the library for 9 dollars, but we arrived at 2.30 in the morning and werent sure how safe this would be at that time of the morning? The other annoying fact was that we asked for a quiet room, unfortunately i was kept awake by dogs in the neighbourhood barking. (not sure if it came from very local police hq?)and by noisy guests blasting out music next door. I know this is not the fault of the hotel, but just goes to show you think you have booked a quality room but there are factors out of the hotels control!!!! Finally - hotel doesnt appear to have a business centre - free wi fi in room. you have to save files, go to an external website, upload the files, send to print, then have the pages delivered to your room. tried to print off some pages from mapquest, didnt work. would rather have had a business centre to print direct.

My husband and I went to this hotel to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. When I made the reservation, I mentioned the fact that, though it was not then a Raffles Hotel, this was the hotel where we had our wedding reception. ( 20 years ago, it was an excellent hotel; and so, Raffles had a lot to live up to.) When we checked in and gave our names, we were wished a Happy Anniversary and told our room was being upgraded---a lovely surprise! The room was a suite and was fabulous and beautifully appointed. Every staff person we met called us by name and asked if they could be of service. When the bar was crowded before dinner, they served us our drinks in the "living room" area on the opposite side of the lobby. We had dinner in Jaan's, the hotel restaurant, and everything was delicious--my husband raved about the chestnut soup that he had for a first course. The service was terrific--attentive but not annoying. And, at the end of our meal, the waiter brought us a complimentary assortment of desserts with "Happy Anniversary" written in while chocolate. Need I say that our anniversary celebration was even better than we could have hoped for and this hotel certainly deserves its 5 stars and 4 diamonds!

Everything about your stay here will be five star, from the valet staff to reception, to the concierge and the room staff, everyone greets you by name and makes you feel welcome. I would give particular praise to Christine, the concierge, to whom no request is too much trouble. The rooms were spacious, very well appointed, and very clean, also the soft drinks and water in the mini bar were complimentary. The location is on a fairly busy residential street in Beverly Hills so although nobody does seem to walk it is a safe neighbourhood. There are a few things to be aware of, firstly it is about a fifteen to twenty minute walk to the nearest shops and restaurants, however there is a courtesy car available with extremely helpful drivers for journeys within a three mile radius. The valet parking is $35 dollars a night which can work out very expensive for a stay of several nights. Also after a very enjoyable but not overpriced dinner in the restaurant (by Beverly Hills standards) we had two coffees in the Writers Bar totalling $20 which is overpriced. However if you want a morning coffee there is Kellys which is a 5 to 10 minute walk situated next to the library where you can also use the public car park for free overnight parking and then 75 cents for 30 minutes after 8am.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and if you use the same agency as we did there are good deals to be had.

I competely agree with all of the previous reviewers that this hotel is really outstanding. The valet and front desk staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful, and the concierge went way above and beyond the call of duty to help us with everything from dinner reservations to a hair cut appointment. We also ate at the restaurant and in the bar, and everyone there was wonderful as well. The food was very good (albiet a little pricey), and the cocktails and wine list were great. We asked for help from the courtesy car a couple of times, and he was very knowledgeable and nice. This is a very helpful service, particularly because we did not know the city very well.

Our room was so comfortable that I did not want to leave. It was very spacious, and I loved the bed (which is low to the ground and has kind of an Asian feel). The bathroom was the best part, though. The main bathroom was large, with separate tub and shower, and we loved their bath products. My favorite part was the vanity area -- it was so comfortable to sit and put on makeup every morning. The two sets of robes and his and hers slippers were a great touch as well. They really have thought of everything.

We could hardly believe how quiet the hotel was. It was so nice to come back and have a quiet cocktail and evening after spending the day in such a loud and busy city. It is in the perfect location -- on a quiet street that is right in the middle of great restaurants, shopping, etc.

We had a wonderful stay and cannot wait to return! Thank you so much to everyone!

My husband and I stayed here July 12-15 on our way to Hawaii for our honeymoon. Even though we used a GPS it was a little difficult to find the hotel the first few times as you see the hotel sign after you pass the entrance. At night it is easier to find as there are lights in the trees. Although they have flexible check in, our room was not ready. We got a great rate through Orbitz but the hotel had our dates wrong compared to our Orbitz confirmation page. Not too big of a deal, we didn't wait that long as they figured out their error.
You had to use your room key to work the elevator. Our room was right above the valet so the traffic in the morning could be kinda of noisy as previous reviews say. Unlike most hotels I've stayed in, the hotels were absolutely quiet with no children running around. The room was very spacious. The bathroom was very large with a separate tub and shower as well as double sinks. I liked that there was a dressing room with vanity. The wet bar was fully stocked and we were told that the soda and water were free. We learned the second day as I came across our wet bar bill that the Fiji water was not free and there was apparently a no name water that we should have been drinking. Free wifi in the room was a great addition. The TV was large but I was surprised it was not a flat screen and so far from the bed. The lights are on a sensor so every night when we opened the door to our room the lights all went on. There is no iron or ironing board in the room so we had to request one. Also you sign up for a complimentary newspaper upon check in but we only received a newspaper on our last day and it was not the one we requested.
Since it was our honeymoon, my mom sent flowers to our room. She said the concierge was very nice when she placed the order but the arrangement was not the colors (our wedding colors)that she requested. No big deal. The chocolate covered strawberries from the hotel were delicious. The turn down service was nice. It was nice to have a bottle water and glass on each of our nightstands.
The valet was very friendly. They would ask if we needed directions and would remember when we returned to ask specifically about the place we went to. The pool is quite small but a good temperature. There's probably only around 20 chairs at the pool. In the afternoon it is difficult to get a chair in the sun. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Didn't see any celebs though as I was hoping!
