Description: You'll know the moment you arrive that Lawry's The Prime Rib is an extraordinary restaurant. The signature Roasted Prime Ribs of Beef are aged 21 days, rock salt-roasted to perfection then carved to order tableside from shining silver carts. The famous Spinning Bowl Salad, whipped cream horseradish, mashed potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding and warm hospitality complete the experience that has landed Lawry's on countless "10 Best" lists and made it a dining legend since 1938.

It's been a number of years since we've been here and we're so glad we did. This place has never disappointed-ever! The food is fantastic, great wine list and service 5 Star! The spinning salad is one of their signatures as well as a superb waitress staff dressed in waitress uniforms from the 50's. The training this staff receives is amazing. Starting with the hostess who carried our drinks from the bar to the table, pointing out to us that we were about to go down three steps. It's the little things that make an experience memorable. Lawry's never fails to provide. This restaurant is very popular so be prepared to wait, sometimes very long as only part of the restaurant is able to be reserved in advance. I was thrilled to see Twomey Merlot and Silver Oak Cabernet by the glass. Highly recommend!

If you don't like prime rib- don't go. If you do, Lawrys will be done of the best you'll ever have. It's a lively, energetic, comfortable atmosphere with a sophistication from old English dinner house. It's great bang for your buck on the high end scale. Mash Potatoes, gravy, spinning salad bowl (amazing) meat carved at your table & Yorkshire pudding. All killer. Our group of 7 had various cuts of meat & all were excellent. The lobster add on is a great value at $14 extra or so for 6oz tail. Servers are friendly & attentive. Don't pass up the cream corn! Run don't walk for that. I like decaf coffee after 4pm & Lawrys was very fresh & good. (Had to mention) we can't wait to go back!

Even though this is a tourist attraction, I have always loved their prime rib and the great Vintage salad dressing that you can purchase there after your meal.

In a word? Overrated. We had heard about Lawry's from friends and were excited to experience what we thought would be a culinary masterpiece. Far from it. The decor and ambience resemble a huge hotel lobby mixed with a cafeteria. While the service was great, the food was disappointing. The mashed potatoes were starchy and resembled those that come out of a box. The salad was flat and limp. The prime rib was good, however we've both had better so we weren't sure what all the fuss was about. Like another reviewer said, it's prime rib pre-fabricated and pushed around on a cart. Not sure what the point of that is? Nowhere near the class and sophistication of other restaurants in the area, especially Beverly Hills. Quite tacky, really. And furthermore, let the female servers wear something else besides ridiculous, out-dated, sexist dresses from whenever the restaurant opened. Some traditions are not worth continuing, and that uniform is undoubtedly one of them.

I've been to Lawry's many times over the years. I recently went there with five people and found the dining experience to be outstanding in every way.

Everyone, including my nine-year old son, ordered the prime rib dinner. Starting off with the famous spinning bowl salad where the waitress spins the salad and the pours the dressing from high, to the sides of creamed corn, buttered peas, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, and Yorkshire pudding that accompany your meal-all are just as good as you remember. The prime rib is cut for you at your table and sides served from the trademark silver cart that costs over $40,000.

The prime rib dinner from the kids' menu doesn't cut corners and was surprisingly complete with sides at a reasonable $20. Your child will not be disappointed.

The wine list is fairly priced and offers a wide selection.

Many of the servers have been there for years and this shows in the quality of service which I found efficient and unobtrusive.

Go and enjoy yourself. I guarantee that the food will meet or exceed your expectations.
