Grill on the Alley was recommended by someone who grew up in the area. We were warned that prices are VERY high. The choices were very good. Service is Top Shelf. Food was very good, though not the best we've ever had. But certainly high quality. We would visit again during one of our future trips to the L.A. area... we hit the Lottery.

We had a late lunch here and were greeted very warmly and once seated were served by a drinks waiter who had class. All the gentlemen serving had that old fashioned etiquette that you don't see in many places anymore. Their uniforms were pristine and I can't sleek highly enough of their attention to us while we dined. The portions were generous as we've discovered quickly here everywhere but of high quality. A place not to miss when shopping in Rodeo drive.

The food here is very good 4 star, but we can't really afford to keep eating here--it's expensive for the food you get.

Again, don't get us wrong--food is very good, service is very good, but a piece of farm raised charbroiled salmon (no wild salmon available), with a side of steamed spinach included, as good as it can be prepared with happy servers slavering all over you is not really worth $45.00+ tax and tip included, no drinks included.

But built in that price is something some folks just need to get though the night and the next day bragging to all their friends and coworkers: You are eating dinner in BH, just around the corner from Tiffany's on Rodeo. People in the entertainment industry eat there and you never know who you will see. Beautiful people eat there and you can stare at them from time to time as you sip your wine. Other people and tourists that eat there may think you are famous and stare at you. This is the 30% extra that is built in the price. Everyone feels great about themselves walking out the door except your wallet.

We are fans of Nate and Al's around the corner in Beverly Hills that does not have the same ambiance, but you get the best salmon, veggies, potatoes, and pickles for $20.00 plus tax and tip. That is value in our book! But we regret to inform you that at Nate's there will be no bus boy in a white coat cleaning the crumbs off your white table cloth and picking up the plate as soon as you lower your fork. They do have incredible sour pickles though!

Friendly, Fun, Always a good meal. The over all experience here makes any "flaw" minimal. The Petit filet, the ruben sandwich, the chopped salad are hearty and always right on. You might see a celebrity there!
