“Amazing Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2010

The Montage in Beverly Hills will definitely wow you with the service. It started when we went to check in and the receptionist welcomed us by name. We figured the valet must have called the front desk to tell her we were checking in. We were escorted up to our room by a young women who inquired if we were celebrating a special occasion. We told her it was our 27th anniversary. After dinner, we returned to find a lovely and delicious chocolate cake wishing us a Happy 27th anniversary. When we were ready to leave, the valet gave us bottled water and addressed us by name.

We dined at Parq and the service there was also lovely. Not pretentious or inattentive like so many Beverly Hills restaurants. And best of all, it was quiet.

The spa is beautiful and although the massage was expensive, my husband thoroughly enjoyed it.

The rooms aren't as large as some fine hotels, but the amenities are wonderful. For men, the flat screen TV's are really big.

The most amazing part of our entire experience is that we had a comped room that we received at a silent auction. We expected the lowest level room, but in fact had a lovely room with a large balcony.

I would recommend this hotel over the Beverly Hills hotel and Beverly Wilshire any day.

I spent two night at the Montage as a wind down after a conferrence in Orlando. My experience right from the car that collected me at LAX through to the check out was excellent and faultless in every degree. The concierge was most helpful in selecting local restaurants to dine at (including Cut at the Beverley Wilshire!) through to organizing a car and guide to show me the beach areas of LA, which in all my visits to the area over 30 years I had never been to!
My room overlooked the entrance to the hotel and included a private balcony - my initial thoughts were that this might be a noisy location - I could not have been more wrong! The ammenities within the room were as expected for this caliber of hotel - however $12 US for a cup of coffee in the morning is steep - especially when back home tea and coffee are supplied (and even in Orlando at the Ritz Carlton, coffee was supplied in room! Quite a few US hotels should / could learn from this and it is really no major cost to them).
Breakfast both on the Terrace and in the main restaurant were excellent and part of my accommodation package. The gardens situated next to the hotel give a very pleasant outlook and the ease of getting to Rodeo Drive makle this an ideal location.
The ability to have a late checkout - virtually anytime you wish - makes it very easy to plan the day especially when departing on a long international flight at mid-night.
All in all a very pleasant experience and a hotel that is now firmly on my stay at again list.

Wonderful stay. All of the staff were friendly and caring. The rooms are furnished in a traditional style but with all the latest features like electric drapes, privacy light, superb shower and large soaking tub. The food in all the restaurants and from room service was delicious. The location 2 blocks from Rodeo Drive puts you in the center of all the Beverly Hills action. Not inexpensive but worth every penny.

Booked room 1 nite via AmEx Platinum card. Room upgraded and was a smallish room but beautiful with double sink bathroom and separate shower and tub and TV with remote in bath. Granite on bath counter had ogee and scalloped edge - gorgeous and expensive - I know as just did a bath renovation at home! Drapes controlled by electric remote from bed as were lights. Room was clean and everything worked and in good condition. Left room reluctantly and had brunch in restaurant - wonderful food and ok service in beautiful surroundings. Concierges very pleasant and helpful and go extra mile. Wished we would have used $100.00 for spa treatment but used for restaurant and still great. Overall great attitiude and service and wonderful room! Next visit will try spa...

I am a hard hotel guest to impress, my husband and I are fortunate to experience luxury travel for both business and pleasure. The Montage Hotel Beverly Hills granted us check in and check out at our leisure. This set the stay at a very relaxing level. Our room was a deluxe suite, a bit small and a little ordinary in decor but very comfortable. Monogrammed pillows with each of our initials were placed upon the bed. The spa on the third floor was serene and offered nice amenities, a beautiful ambiance. I went wild in the spa shop.....great books on design and style along with hard to find treasures at a great price. We enjoyed the piano music in the tea lounge, the use of the Maybach house car and the gracious staff. The proximity to Rodeo Drive and Whole foods was great for our morning walk/ window shopping excursion. The roof top pool terrace and cafe were nice but could be more glamourous to compare with others in town. The food was fine, dining service was not world class. I will certainly return both for the comfort and ease of location to shops, galleries, and restaurants. I suggest more surprise amenities and perks if the managements wishes to cultivate return guests. All in all I give the hotel an 8 on a scale of 10. I do highly recommend it . Tracy R.

My boyfriend and I had an event to attend nearby and were in a large group of guests staying at this hotel. Parking for a few hours only cost our guest $5. The hotel is just a few steps away from Spago and within easy walking distance of a 24 hour Rite Aid, Beverly Hills cafes, restaurants and shops as well as Rodeo Drive. Did not get a chance to eat at hotel restaurant or to use room service.

PROS: Massage at the spa was top notch, locker room had full amenities (everything you could need plus sauna, steam room, jaccuzzi, and co-ed mineral pool). Gyms had bottled water, headphones, tv's built into every machine. Super service from front desk (asked for two newspapers and got them delivered to the room in less than ten minutes), turn down service and offer of fresh fruit to be restocked in the room. Room had fully stocked mini fridge, large flat panel tv in the room and a small flat panel in the bathroom(!), fantastic and expensive toiletries from Agraia, luxurious bedding (with personally monogrammed pillows!!), large walk in closet with safe. It was also a Smart Room - close/open drapes and turn on/off lights at the touch of a button. Pool area was beautiful (jaccuzzi, cabannas, towels, lounge chairs, magazines, water with fruit slices and sunscreen provided). Library was used as a hospitality suite and everything you could imagine was provided - snacks, tea, beverages, both the LA and NY Times. The hotel staff were friendly, accomodating, plentiful and eager to serve. The decor in the lobby, lounge and rooms was beautiful and well tended.

CONS: The service at the rooftop restaurant was a bit slow, especially at the omlette station (but it was tasty). The business center has only 2 computers (but most people will use the in room WIFI, so no big deal). One of the attendants at the spa also worked as a waitress, which I thought was really strange. All minor quibbles.

Decided to try the hotel when it became part of the Amex Fine Hotel program as we stay in California regularly because of family. Thought the extra bonus dining gift of $250 might be worth it to try it. Have stayed in a number of the upscale hotels in BH and always felt welcome and never snubbed until the Montage. They overcharged on food service and had to have a discussion with the front desk staff for 1/2 an hour before they acknowledged that they were wrong. Trip was a gift from a relative who paid for it and told them to keep the charges private and email it to them. We got the bill and their answer for the mistake was its a computer problem. Sorry, I think its a human problem there- excuses, excuses, excuses. Made a mistake and will never do it again. Suite was small compared to others in the area. Pros: The concierge is nice and helpful. Gym is nice, pool is average. Food was okay but brutally expensive. No complaints about housekeeping. All valet parking in BH is expensive.
