We had no idea what we'd get into when we decided to have breakfast at La Note. We figured that on Sunday morning at 9:00 we could just waltz in and choose a table at the window. What folly! There were about 30 people lining up outside, waiting for patrons to clear tables. To shorten the wait, we accepted a table on the little patio in the back, even though it was quite cold that morning. Every table was filled inside and out. Service was surprisingly quick and friendly. My scrambled eggs and side of creme fraiche pancake was delicious, but my partner's oatmeal pancakes so so. Cappuccino was great. Would have rated it higher, but the long wait on a grimy sidewalk that hasn't been cleaned in ages, is somewhat discouraging.
