I went to Rick and Ann's on a beautiful Monday afternoon. For as busy as the place was, the wait wasn't terribly long, and the service was friendly and attentive. We were seated at the communal table, which is a larger table with other parties seated alongside you. Though it didn't bother me or my friend at all, some people might not like this style of seating. For those of you who would bothered by this, don't worry, they let you know before they seat you, so you can wait for a regular table if that is preferable.
Conversations were lively and abuzz throughout the restaurant, with a mix of all age groups. The atmosphere and decor was very homey; the place had a bed and breakfast feel to it. The wait staff was very pleasant and friendly, my friend and I were well taken care of. Again, for how busy the restaurant was, and it was extremely busy (especially for a Monday afternoon), the service wasn't very slow, we received our food in a decent and respectable amount of time.
The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered a hamburger with Jack cheese and fries. The burger was cooked perfectly, exact to the way I ordered it. The fries were amazing, the perfect compliment to the burger. Crispy and thin-cut, they were full of flavor without being heavily salted. Parking was not difficult, especially for Berkeley. We found a two-hour limit parking spot just a block away. Overall, this was a great experience, and I will definitely being returning Rick and Ann's!
