We've been there several times in the past and liked it. Recently, it was mixed, both the food and the service. The house-made charcuterie was fantastic, all of it, along with the pickled vegetables that came with it. The braised beef was dry, though.
And surprisingly the service was inattentive. Drinks took a long time to arrive, the waiter didn't seem to be paying attention, so it took a long while to order a second drink. I don't like the hoveriingly-attentive style at all, but this was at the other end of the spectrum.
Maybe it was just an off night.

We went in for an early dinner before a concert. Unbeknownst to us it was a Saturday for a home game for Cal Bears, consequently the restaurant was packed even at 6PM. However, the service was fine and although a little harried no more so than many other restaurants on a Saturday evening. My steak was good but not outstanding, not enough flavor though it was cooked correctly (medium rare). My wife's mixed grill contained a plethora of meats which she generally enjoyed although she wash't wild on one of them (wish i could remember which).

Overall a better than average restaurant convenient for the theater or Cal concert venues.

The bill for a beer (Trumer draft, very good), steak, mixed grill two coffees and a desert was $83.39 (including tip but excluding gratuity).

Met friends for dinner before going to a play at Berkeley Rep Theater. Had their soup and one of their salads and was quite pleased with both. It was far from basic, so if you're thinking Applebee's, think again. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food as well and we are all foodies, so that says a lot. Wine was good and reasonably priced.

I have eaten at Revival twice; once with a party of three, and more recently with a party of 12. In both cases the food was excellent, the cocktails were divine, and the service was very good. The staff treated our large group nicely, accommodating our request for a particular seating arrangement, and getting us served in time to walk over to Berkeley Rep to see a show. I appreciate the farm to table food choices. Highly recommend - I am taking one point off for a hassle with my reservations. But It may have been isolated, so please try this lovely spot for yourself.

This spacious restaurant is easily accessible near the Berkley campus. The décor is somewhat eclectic tending towards the antique.

Food is farm to table, sustainable and is all that much more flavorful. Dishes are simple relying on the main ingredients for robust flavor. I enjoyed a combination plate of goat (yes goat!) and pork. Both were flavorful and tender. One of our group ordered a trout that was beautifully prepared, whole with herbs. The drinks menu included a variety of complex drinks that ranged from the very sweet and colorful to the intense and intoxicating (lots of good bourbon behind the bar, too).

Live jazz music a trio) was just plain awesome.

Wait staff is very knowledgeable about everything.

We started late (9:00 pm) on a Thursday, so it wasn't too crowded
