Came back this week and was blown away by the food again. I absolutely love the pizzas here and the fact that they always have new dishes that are wonderful.

Across Oxford Street from Edwards Stadium in an Industrial Moderne setting of concrete, wood, and glass, Gather is one of Berkeley's most controversial eateries. Like a more youthful and vibrant version of the Café at Chez Panisse, the food is beautifully presented and is prepared from local and/or sustainable ingredients. The patrons are lively, and the conversations can be loud. If you are the retiring type or have difficulty focusing, ask to be seated outside or (if alone or in a very small group) in the bar. Seasonally appropriate vegan, vegetarian, and carnivore-pleasing dishes are available. Come here for quality not quantity (unless you order the popular pizzas), take your time, and you'll find brunch or dinner well worth the price. My most recent brunch arrived in three courses: an amazing cherry gazpacho (weak on the garlic but strong on fruit flavor), a Blossom Bluff Stone Fruit Salad that gently hit all flavor notes in a memorable medley, and a chocolate almond torte accompanied by a fine cappuccino. Total dining time was a very relaxing and renewing 90 minutes and well worth it. A full bar, a good wine list, and a variety of fine beers by the bottle are available, too.

This place has great service, even when it's late in the evening and they're about to close! My Prather Ranch Burger was very good and the fries were tasty. The chocolate hazelhut cake that I had was also good, but the salt seemed to be concentrated in one part of the cake. Gross!

The decor is also nice. This is also one of those places that presents their food nicely, which, I'll admit, I am a sucker for.

We sat outside on the heated patio which was pleasant on a cool evening. The food it's unusual with a good number of vegan entries and also most are gluten free including the desserts. There is also meat, chicken and fish on the menu. We started the meal with one of their inventive cocktails and a shared appetizer. Sharing is no problem and there is no extra charge. We followed our main courses with a shared desert. It was a pleasant evening. The wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. A pleasant evening with a delicious and healthy dinner.

Got the corn scramble which was suggested by the waiter as one of the more popular brunch entrees, was not impressed at all. Basically scrambled eggs, kale and corn with potatoes. My husband got the egg pizza which was good but not 18$ good. Maybe lunch and dinner menu has more options?
