“Fourth Street”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

This tree lined street is lovely for shopping, walking, and dining. You can't go wrong. I particularly like the Japanese paper store, Miki's, and the Japanese fabric shop next door. Other favorite spots along the street include the Stain Glass Garden, Tacubaya, Bette's, and Zut.

“Artisans, Coffee and Paper, Paper, Paper”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

I am a huge paper fan and I could not get over all of the gorgeous paper available in the shoppes along Fourth Street! We ate at Betty's Diner (AWESOME!) but my favorite spot of the day was "Castle in the Air." What a wonderful spot to stroll and explore!

“Take a Stroll in Berkeley”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

Take some time to stroll around 4th Street in Berkeley. Fine dining, or tacos, check out expensive rags or try some discounts at Crate and Barrel Outlet. After all that, stop in the Pasta Shop and try some exotic cheeses, buy some handmade pasta for dinner at home. Have a coffee at Peet's or grab a fresh bagel at Manhattan Bagel. It's all lovely with shady trees and even cat and dog adoptions on the corner during the weekends. A lovely place to stroll, and take in the highlights of Berkeley's nicest shopping area. http://www.fourthstreet.com/shops.html

“Great place to bring out of town visitors”
Reviewed May 27, 2013

This area never seems to be uninteresting. I love the eclectic variety of restaurants and shops, always something going on. Parking is usually not too hard to find, although most of it is metered. Find a bench and sit back for some interesting people watching.

“Nice local shops”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

Walked here from Emeryville and it was a pleasant surprise to see the little shops along this street. They all seemed nice and welcoming and I enjoyed an afternoon of looking around and browsing what was on offer. I really liked the feel of the street and would recommend a visit to this little shopping area, if you are nearby. They are quite a few places to eat, either to sit down or takeaway and a few bakery type places if you just wanted a little snack or treat.
