“Beautiful and interesting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2013

What a lovely place! It was so nice to walk among all the different plants and mini-environments, and there were easy to follow guides and explanations of what the gardens were about. The Japanese water feature was just lovely. They grow plants from all over the world here and have different areas to represent different countries and regions. Very interesting!

“A world for botanists”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2013

A haven for botanists and ecologists; a recreation of ecosystems from around the world with a huge range of native species from around the world. Needs at least two hours - then a repeat visit!

“Lovely day”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

Lots to see! In March, the rhododendrons were amazing! I should have spent more time there. I think other times of year, different gardens would be at their best. I'll bring a picnic next time and linger in a few places a little longer.

“Everything a botanical garden should be”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013

Strolling through the various parts of this botanical garden shows so many different aspects of gardens and plant life. The paths are well laid out so you don't feel crowded or herded through, there are numerous zones that reflect different kinds of plant life, you can find your favorite and just hang out, or experience them all. Great for families and children of all ages. Added bonus - great views of the San Francisco bay and Golden Gate bridge from the rose garden.

“A woodland exploration”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2013

A woodland that sits in the hills above Berkeley. It's hilly with trails and flora from all over the world. Many of the trees and plants were brought here by UC faculty from places in the world when no one outside the locals knew they existed.
