Worth exploring even if you aren't a student. Have been visiting here for various reasons for going on fifty years. Recently discovered, it is surprisingly walker friendly.
We took their 1-hour free campus tour and had a great experience understanding the Berkeley culture. Interesting topics include the 4.0 hill and the free speech movement. Beware of the tour could run longer than the 1-hour allocation and the free 2-hour parking around that area could be an issue taking all the round-trip and wait time into account. Parking in the stadium is pricey but could be the solution.
We have been on campus numerous times and always find it delightful. Most large campuses are worth spending time at, meeting students, faculty, and other visitors.
We were invited to a destination ending in the grove of trees at the Botanic Gardens. They have a lovely outdoor semi-circular seating area with supplied cushions. The area is great for photographs.
Parts of the campus are like gorgeous parks and can be enjoyed by everyone. There are also some high class performance spaces. This is one of my alma maters.
