“Don't forget the arts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013 via mobile

UC Berkeley is renowned for many things. It is a great university, probably the greatest public university in the world. It was the home of the free speech movement with continuing impacts on the community and world at large. It's campus is a wonderful with its lawns and noble trees is an urban retreat. AND it may be home to one if the best arts presenters in the US. Cal Performances. I depend on Cal Performances to present something notable every week. As I write this, the Joffrey Ballet just finished a run, the was an Eco Ensemble concert of new music, Hubbard Street Dance is in town tonight, flamenco next week...on the negative side is that if you don't know about it and are visiting Berkeley you might miss it.

“Best thing about California!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

Every state should be so lucky as to have a university with the caliber of faculty, academic choices, and first class facilities that Cal has! All of the benefits of an Ivy League education without any of the stuffiness and pretensions. And there is no more exciting and beautiful "college town" than the Bay Area which surrounds it.

“Best Public University in the World”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

Beautiful campus, excellent atmosphere, great experience. OK so I am biased. Graduated from there in 1996 in History. Award winning professors, and authors like Levine, Litwack, Middlekauf, etc.
The football team could use some help, but otherwise. . .Go Bears!

“UC Berkeley's campus is iconic and beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

My Alma Mater, check out the Doe Library's North Reading Room, have a bite at the Free Speech Movement cafe and take a walk up the campus to the Asian Studies library for a look at some of the more modern architecture on campus.
