The hotel is located on a busy, main street. Plenty of shops and places to eat in the vicinity. Initial impression was off-putting, as the lobby felt downscale and had an odd odor. However, the room was fine. Breakfast was the usual HIE offering, with a small seating area. Did easy day trips to Half Moon Bay to the west and Stanford Univ to the south. Also a short ride to SFO airport to the North. For around $110, thought this was good value for the price paid.More

I loved this hotel staff the minute we walked in. Traveling non-stop for work I've met so many people and personalities. These folks know how to treat guests with an ability that comes natural. I can not say enough at how "Andi" was so friendly and kept us smiling and lol. When we came out or our room to the evening staff, they were just as warm and wonderfully accommodating also. The hotel was very quiet and comfortable. Free breakfast.
Excellent Service by everyone at this hotel. I highly recommend them if you are visiting anywhere near San Jose, Mountain View or even the SFO airport. It's not too far from these places and the price is very reasonable.

This place was easy to find. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was nice and clean, maybe a bit pricey. Off the 101 a little bit is a good thing. Staying next to El Camino Real Street is a little loud until traffic dissipates. Good parking, open air or covered. Breakfast was standard Holiday Inn fare which was fine. Overall a good stay.

nice entry area, professional, friendly service, wide hallways, updated décor - everything working - nice coffee makers in room - comfortable beds - very satisfying - my only negative would be that by 8 am the breakfast food was very much picked over - both mornings there were only a couple of apples and some oranges available - no bananas... hmmm - perhaps other customers took some with them for later in the day... regardless, would have liked to have seen the area re-supplied (on the 2nd day there were no cinnamon rolls either).

We continue to stay at this hotel when visiting the Belmont/San Carlos area due to comfortable rooms and firendly, responsive staff. Rates are much higher on week days due to business people, but weekend rates are more affordable for budget minded travelers. A negative for families is that there is no pool, however the hotel is a great place to stay otherwise. Price also includes a free breakfast.
