“Great Choice”

Stayed here for one night with my husband and teenage daughter. We had the Mexican Suite which was spacious and attractive with 2 bedrooms and a sitting room - great after cramped hotel rooms.

Very nice to have such a welath of complimentary supplies of drinks and snacks and wine reception is a nice touch.

The breakfast arrangement was ok but busy and with a limited menu.

On the downside Baywood Inn would benefit from improved sound proofing between the rooms.

Our family of four spent two nights at the Baywood Inn on our way from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Our accommodations were just perfect -- clean, beautifully decorated, and very spacious. The Inn is right across the road from the bay and is located in a very quiet area. We loved the change of pace from the hectic lifestyles of larger towns/cities. We ate in four different restaurants (all within a block of the Inn) during our stay and all of the meals were great. There is also a laundromat within 2 blocks which was very convenient. This area was a perfect break for us at the mid-point of our trip. While this area is extremely quiet (and doesn't even have streetlights) there are plenty of activities in nearby areas that can be reached within a short period of time. It was the most relaxed part of our entire vacation and even my two high schoolers truly appreciated it. The price was extremely reasonable and even included breakfast and wine every night. We would definitely recommend the Baywood Inn and hope to stay there again some day.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are great and decorated in different styles. Our family of four absolutely loved...

Spent two nights here. Stayed in the Cape Cod. All the rooms have different themes and decorating to match. Nightly wine and chips held in next door Mexican restaurant. Morning breakfast available at one of three off site locations. Limited menu and choice of orange juice or coffee. Good food. Office staff was often unavailable. No one showed up in the mornings till after 9 which made early morning check out difficult. Nice location across from the bay---very quiet.

My husband & I stayed in the Williamsburg suite, our favorite, for a long anniversary weekend. The view from the room is superb, the room is super-cozy & roomy for a couple, the bed is wonderful. We have been coming here for years, three times in the past year alone, and are pleased to call it our "home away from home."
Some housekeeping service upgrades are needed, however. We had spider webs swinging from the ceiling & a spider dropped down next to me one night. Also, our bathroom was not cleaned one day, although the bed was made. The breakfast options are inconvenient. The in-room service offered depends on how busy the cafe is when you call. They are not thrilled to have to run over with the delivery to the room. We waited 35 minutes for coffee & pastry and then chose to walk over the other mornings. Some noise from neighboring room's t.v.'s and chatter is always present--sound is not well absorbed between walls.
However, none of this is ever enough to keep us from coming back.

This would be my second home if I lived closer. Maria the hostess at the desk was very friendly and helpful. The room , La Provence, with its delighful French theme was immaculate and cozy. The complimentary and generous glass of wine was of high quality and delicious. This was the best value accomodation we found on our two week vacation along the enchanting Central Coast and we would not hesitate to return someday and especially to this lovely Inn.

We've stayed at the B & B previously so when it was time for me to stay in the area on business I thought of this place. It's also nice that each room has it's own mini frig and microwave. I had great view of the bay from my room and right accoss the street was a small park. Watched a great sunrise from the park. The rooms have themes, they are well appointed, the beds are comfortable. I believe each room has a fireplace controlled by the thermostat so that if the night gets a little chilly it's both romantic and warms up your room nicely. Since breakfast is also included you can either have room service or go to the restaurant next door (Mexican) or another restaurant close by.
It's located between Los Osos and Morro Bay so that if you have to travel between those areas it's really convenient. It's also good for just a quiet weekend. Every afternoon the staff provides wine, cheese, etc get tothers.

My husband and I stayed at the Baywood Inn for one night on a trip driving from San Francisco back home to San Diego. We have stayed here many times in the past and had good experiences. It was our first time in the Williamsburg Suite and we absolutely loved it -- the coziness of the canopy bed, the two chairs for reading by the fireplace, and the room's decorations all added to a feeling of warmth and comfort. We found the view a bit obscured by fog the first day but enjoyed our usual walk around the area followed by coffee at the little shop across the street (which now has a different name and perhaps different owner?). Baywood Park sadly seems to be reflecting the poor economy. For one thing, we were the only occupants of the inn that night -- kind of spooky...The restaurant next door, which was excellent, is gone and has been replaced by yet another Mexican restaurant where you can get your afternoon glass of wine supplied by the Inn but with a basket of chips and salsa (weird!). The trash bins across the street near the dock, which are in full view as you look out from your room window, were not only overflowing with trash but had pieces of broken furniture and other discards thrown around on the ground nearby. This didn't get cleaned up until well into the next day of our stay. Clearly NOT the fault of the Inn. I just was a bit disillusioned with an area I've always loved to visit and which is now looking a bit tattered and shabby.
