The owners of Coral eye, two young couples and two Italian guys, were very gracious and friendly hosts, they have created a very, very pleasant informal atmosphere and made us feel home from the very beginning of our stay. The rooms are quite beautiful inside, you are given the choice between singles/doubles with shared services and doubles with bathroom, which we went for. They are beautifully decorated and all the furniture is made of proper solid wood. You get a very pleasant surprise as you open the sliding door and get in. Everything was very clean.
Bk'fast was quite plain: juice, toasted bread with jam and butter, coffe, milk and tea, not much I must say, but I couldn’t have had more than that since the first dive of the day was only half an hour later. Lunch and dinners were another story: a mix of Indonesian and Italian cousine both of which, I must admit, were to die for.
Now the best part, the diving. These were among the best dives I had ever made, pristine coral reefs, incredible biodiversity, warm and extremely transparent waters. The divemasters were really very good and observant. They were great in finding small critters for you. I would also recommend snorkellers to come here since the house reef is very well preserved and can be easily reached from shore with high tide or from the pier when the tide is low; snorkelers can also take advantage of a ride on the scuba divers boat and have a swim around with no extra charge.
There are no facilities on Bangka, no tv, no pool and no night activities but there is enough signal to make a phone call with your mobile. Local sim cards are available on demand, I bought one and I would recommend to do so since the fares for domestic calls are very low.
