The motel itself was quite adequate, the only real complaint was the service we received in the restaurant the morning of our last day, it was quite unprofessional. We received the worst service that I can ever remember from a waitress, she ignored us for quite a while, the bus boy had to do some of things that she should be taking care of. The coffee was only luke warm.

Lovely room and excellent hotel, breakfast, location. unfortunately we had to complain as we were woken up in the middle of the night as workmen were moving an ice machine down a stone flight of steps and it was so noisy - and they were shouting right outside our room! We opened our door and complained (along with other guests) and the noise died down a little then but it had disturbed our sleep and we didn't sleep too well after that.
Staff were unconcerned at the desk and were obviously aware of the incident, but did offer to reduce the price of our room which was a little compensation. Shame as the hotel is lovely.

Close to the freeway, close to down town, next to the Buck Owens' Crystal Palace. Don't miss a chance to go the Bakersfield and visit the new old town. Then stop in for lunch or dinner at the Crystal Palace. The Best Western's Crystal Palace has thee number one best Breakfast I've been to. If you just like to drive around there is field after field of fruits and vegetables growing next to almost any road . Road side markets abound with fresh produce.

I have stayed at this hotell a few times, the last time was just horrible. There was a bug in our complimentary breakfast. There wasnt a manager on duty. I e-mailed the manager and never go a reply. I also complained on the best western web sight and all I got was an automated reply saying, "thank you for your input. " I think bad management is the problem here. And I dont see this place being a worthwhile stop until that is corrected. The employees at the front desk were very concerned and helpful. One gal had worked a double shift the day I checked in and was there the next morning to check us out. If management was doing their job she wouldn't be the only person working.

Room Tip: The best rooms are the ones with the balcony facing the pool.

Very comfortable, and you'll forget you're in Bakersfield when you sit under the beautiful palm trees in the courtyard pool area. We have stayed here several times now when visiting our grandson and will continue to do so. The staff is very sweet, the shuttle to airport and Amtrak is on-time and friendly and we always meet the nicest people there. It is close to the freeway but you cannot hear traffic from the rooms, which is a bonus. Bakersfield is definitely not a scenic destination, but it is worth staying here JUST for the pool area.
