This place is always crowded. Some times there is a short wait. The home style cooking is great! Huge choice of omelets. We have visited several times. The servers are fast and professional.

We were told about this restaurant by a family member. Then, when we saw the high ranking on trip advisor, we thought we'd better stop in. The place is called Knotty Pine because the entire inside of the restaurant is pine. The restaurant has a diner feel and there is a buzz of happiness inside once you pass through the doors. Even though it was very busy on a Saturday morning, we were seated immediately. The waitress came shortly after that and got our drink order. In fact, everything happened in here in short order. My wife ordered the skillet/stack/omelet creation and I ordered chicken fried steak and eggs. When our food arrived, we could not believe the amount of food in front of us. We could've brought 4 more people and all would've eaten well. HUGE doesn't begin to describe the amount of food you get. (side note: a good number of the clientele in this establishment looked like they ate here regularly).
The food was delicious and we, of course, left a lot of it still sitting on the table. The price was $22 for both of us. We highly recommend this place as the best place in Bakersfield we've eaten in thus far...

This is a wonderful little place to get breakfast. It is kute in a kitschy way, but once inside, you will be pleasantly surprised. the service is very friendly and the food is delicious and fresh.

Home-cooked type food and lots of friendly people. Burgers, sandwiches, daily specials, great breakfast choices. Open for breakfast and lunch only, be prepared to wait if you're there at noon!

First let me say that the service is exceptional. Everyone says hello, coffee is served and refilled quickly, and staff really seem to enjoy working there. Now on to the food,. lots of it and really tastes good. I was there right after they opened and the parking lot was full. That alone tells me I got a winner!!! Try this place, I think you will enjoy it, not far from Highway 99, so you don't have to worry about driving forever to eat a good meal.
