I actually really like Baker, CA. It is a small one street town on the way to Adult Disneyland aka Las Vegas and you feel like you are driving Route 66 in the 50's.

This little store has some really really good jerky. I sampled the Colon Cleanser which they say is 240,000 scovilles but is not and bought the Terriayki. Next time I go to Vegas will be back.

Is obviously a touristy shop, but there isn't a great deal else going on during the drive from Vegas, so this is the place to stop. A good selection of jerky & stuff to buy along with a few aliens around.

Alien Jerky has been around for awhile now, and seems to get a lot of drive-by business from travellers between So. California and Las Vegas. Lots of t-shirts and ball caps with pictures of aliens, and a tremendously fake looking spaceship parked in front. The jerky is... well, jerky. Lots of hot sauce brands as well. They seem to cater to tour buses, and seem to want to make people who don't know any better think they are near Roswell, New Mexico... cashing in the the UFO craze. Worth a visit if you need a break from the freeway!

Nice selection of jerky at normal prices (not cheap, but not overly expensive either). They had a few flavors out for sample, but the names of the jerky types were the reason for the purchases. Lots of UFO-esque souvenirs including shirts, mugs, cards, keychains, etc. Little ones might enjoy posing with the statues and ship out front.

A military guy from Nellis AFB, NV stops at this place every time he pick his kids up in California. He brought some into work and offered it to all of the co-workers, thanks "Andregg". Such a really nice gesture because this stuff is expensive, but I tell you, it is worth it. The first time I touched it, I said this is sticky, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. OMG!! It had the best flavor ever. I ordered 3 peppered jerky on line and then I ordered 3 more for more daughter in the Army. He's heading back to Cali next week and I'm giving him $20 bucks to get me 3 more bags. This makes a great gift too :)
