This is the highlight of the town of Baker !! It was worth the stop, the store had lots to look at lots to buy and just a great place to take all of the weirdness in! Bring your camera there are lots of good picture opportunities inside the store and if you like tee shirts they have some really good ones.

The ONLY other store you can buy authentic Alien Fresh Jerky besides Baker, CA, is the 7-Eleven at 849 Nevada Way in Boulder City, NV 89005 - on the way to Hoover Dam!

Face it, there isn't much to do in Baker, how long can you possibly stare at a tall thermometer? Chances are if you are in Baker you are either on your way to or on your way back from Las Vegas.

Alien Fresh Jerky has been around for as long as I can remember. I remember stopping there years back and it was a tiny little hole in the wall with some preserved alien bodies in bottles on display. Now it is the size of a gas station convenience store inside. WOW! They have so many great flavors; Road Kill, Colon Cleaner, Carne Asada, Abducted Cow . . . just to name a few. There are also samples available. Aside from the jerky they also sell cute alien/UFO/Area 51 shirts and hats, souvenirs, assorted nuts, candies, trail mixes, drinks and honey. I highly recommend their jerky and it's also a nice place to get out and stretch your legs a bit too.

We now have a family tradition of stopping here on the road to AND from Vegas, to buy the really outstanding jerky (which is actually much better fresh from the packet than the little tins of samples, which tend to be dried out bit.) There are about ten plus varieties, and the eccentric packaging alone makes them great gifts...and what other souvenirs of Baker, CA would you want? :-) The packaging is not why we come back, though: We love the original, whiskey, and "BBQ on the moon" varieties, and we take advantage of the three 4 ounce packs for $20. Yes, expensive, but well worth it. Even if you don't like jerky, it's worth a stop for the imaginative alien decor, all on a Roswell/Area 51 theme. And you can always buy a T-shirt.

We stopped there on the way home from Vegas after seeing lots of signs advertising. Seemed like an interesting place but be careful because the guy working behind the counter tricked us into buying things. As we were sampling the beef jerky he asked if we would like to try a little of their "best selling hotsauce"? We said sure not thinking the guy would be a complete jerk and give us the absolutely most miserably hott substance in the world called "satans blood" and when our mouths were literally on fire and our faces were turning bright red and we couldn't breath we asked for a cup of water and he has the nerve to say "all we have is bottled and it will cost you $2.00" apparently that place will stoop to pretty low levels to trick two yound girls just to make a couple bucks.....jerks!
