“European gem in Peru”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

Wonderful small coffee shop in Cajamarca modeled more on a European theme. The coffee is hands down the best I've experienced anywhere in Peru, the food is good, and all while surrounded by the original art of the owner and jazz music. Patrick is very friendly, gracious host to all and speaks an abudance of languages making all feel comfortable and welcome.

You won't be sorry if you stop in.

“Best darn coffee in Cajamarca!”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

I have been staying in Cajamarca for the past 3 months and have had a hard time finding a decent cup of jo. Strangely enough, northern Peru is not known for its coffee, until I found Cafe Van Gough. The owner is European and hand presses each cup of coffee, in a traditional italian style and it is out of this world! It beats every other cafe and fancy restaraunt in town by miles. It is better than nearly every Starbucks or other coffee barista you can find in the western world. Food and other beverages are also very good, but the coffee is by far the stand out.

A must-stop for a little taste of the European Café experience while in Cajamarca, providing a personal, relaxing, and friendly environment. A double cappuccino and crapes for breakfast can’t be beat!

Best place in town for breakfast and coffee. Live music on Friday Nights, free WIFI, a little home away from home when staying Cajamarca. Patrick has a very nice place.

Ask for Mike's Special for breakfast!!

“Great coffee, live music, and ambience”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

I am so happy this place exists. They have live music on Friday nights so I suggest checking the website for starting times, grabbing a table up front (which is not hard as this place is small), sipping on some coffee or a cocktail, and enjoying the evening.

The art on the walls is enough entertainment, but the music is an added bonus. This will be a regular hang out from now on.
