To be honest, I liked my meal, and my wife loved hers. She got a wahoo steak... it was big and perfectly cooked. She absolutely loved it. I got the fish chowder and fish and chips. Their fish and chips are very good, although I remembered it being a little better in past trips (in the past, this has been my go to place for fish and chips on Bermuda). The fish chowder I had was OK... definitely not the best on the idland, but still good. This is still a place that I would recommend for a lunch.

We enjoyed a great lunch at the Black Horse Tavern in Tucker's Town while on an INCREDIBLE excursion with Ashley from Hidden Gems Bermuda (http://www.bermudahiddengems.com/). Our tour included a stop at the Black Horse for a great lunch the locals enjoy. The lunch included fresh fish chowder, wahoo, black beans & rice, coleslaw and some exclusive to Bermuda - ginger beer (a sweeter version of ginger ale). The service was great. Ashley called ahead and our drinks and fish chowder were waiting for us upon arrival. Shortly after enjoying that, our main courses came out and were great. We were seated out on the deck and had a great view of the marina the restaurant overlooks. This was such a better lunch than what you get on nearly every other excursion. If you're on your own, a stop here would be a good pick. But if you'd like to really experience the great things Bermuda has to offer, book a trip with Ashley at Hidden Gems so you can have a great time seeing and enjoying Bermuda while stopping off for a great lunch at the Black Horse!

In our family's opinion, they have the best fish chowder on the island, and the rest of their food is good too. Very nice location on the water in St David's with friendly staff. Easy enough to take the bus there, but the return trip by bus is less predictable so we either taxi out or take a longish walk over to the beaches with ampere-arranged taxi pickup. Worth the trip.

We ate at the Black Horse tonight and it was an excellent dining experience. Our waitress was incredibly friendly; calling our daughter by name, bringing her crayons, crouching down to speak to her at eye level. I wish we had gotten our server's name, so we could proclaim her as the best server on the island!
The food was excellent and of course the view can't be beat.
But the best part for us was how welcome we felt, and how warm our server was to our daughter.
We will be regulars from now on!

This was our only mean we ate on the island, and it was pretty good. The menu was a little misleading, 2 of us ordered a quesadilla which is under the listing of meals that come with fries, but it apparently does not... By America's standard this meal was expensive for "Pub Food" but I understand that this the usual price on Bermuda. Waitress wasn't friendly, but wasn't exactly unfriendly either. Food was great. Has the slow pace feel and beautiful views. Tons of fish can be viewed and fed from the outdoor seating area.

Thank you Nicole T for your review and comments! We very much appreciate you taking the time to do so. Unfortunately however we don't have quesadillas on our menu. In fact, the Black Horse Tavern specializes in traditional 'local fare' , fresh fish and seafood. We are best known for our Fish Chowder, Fish Sandwiches and our curried conch and curried mussels. Even the fresh catch of the day are local and visitors' favorites! We do hope your experience overall in Bermuda was pleasurable and memorable and if you find yourself back in St. David's, we hope you'll be back to Black Horse!
