“Great Algonquin Adventure”
Reviewed December 9, 2017 for a stay in December 2017

We had a wonderful relaxing stay! We went to many of the trails and outlooks this area of Ontario has. One day, my boys wanted to enjoy some alone time on their iPads and this place has Wi-Fi too. I hiked Algonquin Adventures on my own. We did all day trips in and out of the park with shopping and amenities right nearby! Great bakery down the street. It was so quiet thought I almost forgot where we were some nights by the campfire. The cottage is situated beside Cooper Lake which is a calm, serene piece of water where we canoed on several days and swam in. You are not directly on the lake however that does nothing to dissuade the View in the evening amongst the trees and the night sky. We all had our own space within the cottage, on beds and I cooked nearly every day. My boys also enjoyed creating campfires and there is also a wood-burning stove if you felt like adding on viance or enjoying some warmth on a cooler evening. There is electric baseboard heating though. And a really hot shower Ingrid is a very gracious hostess and is nearby if you do or don't need her. This is a great getaway, for walks, to relax, for kids, families, couples and anyone else who enjoys Algonquin Park and all it has to offer!!

“Great place”

A nice and quite place, inside the unit was beautiful. I thought it was a little over priced for a unit attached to the main house and it was not on the lake. You could see the lake through the trees, somewhat.

How easy was it to book the property? How helpful were the directions to the property?
How easy was key pickup/access to the property? Overall condition of the property
Bedding & mattresses Kitchen & utensils
Bathroom cleanliness Other facilities & amenities

Liked best: watching the birds on the feeder
Liked least: cost a little too much for a building unit that was attached to a main unit,

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your comments and are always striving to meet expectations. In our tripadvisor add it states the price and that the cottage is a wing out from our cottage on the main page.. We have 300 ft of lakefront with dock and beach but as we prefer the trees for shade the lake is harder to see in the summer but very clear the rest of the year. Thank you again for a good rating and enjoy the rest of your summer.

“Lovely and tranquil”
Reviewed May 14, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We really loved this cabin. It's a great location: only 5 minutes from highway 60 (but the silence at the cottage is incredible!) where food and groceries are easily available, and only about 10 minutes drive to the Algonquin park boundary. The owners supply a car pass for the park which is a bonus. The view of the lake from the cabin is good as you are quite high above the water. There is good outdoor seating (including a camp fire spot), and a gas BBQ. A double and single canoe are down by the water. The cabin itself is well furnished and equipped - the wood burner is really good - so much heat from 2-3 logs! Would love to go in the depths of winter!

Liked best: The location
Liked least: The water access on foot is not as convenient as other cabins I've used - depends whether than is important to you.

“Incredible Romantic Getaway ”
Reviewed October 24, 2015 for a stay in November 2014

My husband and I spent the weekend here; Cooper Lake holds a very special place in our hearts as it was were we got engaged! The cottage itself is cozy and well laid out with a great view of the lake itself. We were there just after a giant snow which made it all the more beautiful. Ingrid and Bob were incredible hosts, giving us lots if space but were very accessible if we ever need anything. They are incredibly accommodating and all around lovely people! You won't regret choosing this place as a getaway spot; we plan to come back soon!!

We had a fantastic stay here in your beautiful cabin. Thank you for having us. This was the perfect getaway from our busy lives. We really enjoyed having the park pass so we could explore trails and see some wildlife, this was just so much fun. It was also very relaxing to just sit by the Lake and enjoy the quiet and beautiful scenery. The fire pit outside was very enjoyable and loved the view of the lake from there. We are so very sad to leave but will be planning a return trip at some point soon. Ingrid was awesome when she checked us in. She told us everything we needed to know to get settled. Thank you again for this lovely time!
