Yes, it's worth a stop here. There are quite a lot of educational installations which are interesting but also a little art gallery where photographers sell their photos of the area. And there's a cafeteria where you can sit down and have something to eat and drink.

My family visited the Visitor Centre this past weekend. It's a great place to take a break away from camping and check out the information on the area. There is a bookstore/gift shop and a cafe to grab a coffee or muffin or a little meal. It's expensive though. They also have wifi at the cafe. The exhibits are very cool. The lookout is nice too. We very much enjoyed visiting and will be back on our next family camping trip.

We popped into the visitor centre on our way into the park then spent about an hour there at the end of our trip. Both were useful. Lots of exhibits about the park, the wildlife, and human history in /near the park. The board with the reports of wildlife sightings is useful if there is some particular animal that you are keen to observe. And of course the famous lookout off the back deck is great. Could easily have spent several hours here. An excellent overview of what you could / should / did see.

IF you miss the city life while in Algonquin, you can drop by the Visitor Centre and connect your phone to the Wi-Fi and go back to reality for a while! ;-) . Your kids will have the opportunity to see how the Algonquin wildlife looks like on the museum exhibition featuring moose and bear. Outside there is a beautiful desk where you can stand and relax watching the scenery.
