The Logging Museum provides an informative walk through Algonquin Park's logging history. It begins with a film in the museum followed by an interpretive walk which contains exhibits including buildings and machinery from Algonquin's logging past. The trail is mobility friendly. You must have a valid park permit to visit this attraction.

We stopped in here on the way back to our cabin and were really glad we did. You start off with a 10 minute video about the progress of the logging industry and then take a walk thru an old logging camp. The entire walk was interesting but what we learned about the conservation steps taken by the government when logging in Algonquin Park gave us a positive outlook on what they have done. This is a short walk but in my opinion a must.

After a long day trip in Algonquin, my daughters and I were reluctant to make this last stop but my husband insisted. He was right. There is a short film that gives you background on the logging industry in Algonquin and then visitors are welcome to walk along a 1.3km trail with outdoor exhibits along the way. It was worth it.

We ended up spending a few hours at the logging museum instead of a few minutes. The film was excellent. It was brilliant how the screen opened up and you were immediately at the start of the trail. Trail and the book explaining it were first rate. We took our time on the trail to thoroughly enjoy the outdoor museum. Kudos to whoever designed this whole museum. It was an easy enough trail that one of the people behind us was in a wheelchair and another was on crutches. Lots of benches along the way to relax and enjoy the environment.

I learned so much from the museum and respect the hardships that those individuals endured. I would recommend the museum to anyone interested in history and how things changed the world.
