to Canoe in an national park?. sounds great!? And after 3 days experience, it is great!!
We, family with 3 boys, age 13 to 17, wanted to explore Canada's nature. and we did in Algonquin National Park. what to expect? we didn't know. but is was better then we hoped for.
From the moment we've met Stuart, owner, and Jeromy, our guide fot the 3 days tour, we've got a good feeling. Started with a great lunch together, the atmosphere was great from the first minute.
Then, of we went, 2 canoe's for 3 and off to our camping ground for the first night. Average will do 3-4 hours to go there, but with 3 sporting boys we've done it faster. the next time I would do it slower, to see more. The camp ground for the first night was placed at a beautiful spot, at Tom Thomsen lake. Prepared ourselves for the night to come, and Jeromy prepared a delicious meal. (every meal for the 3 days :-))
Then we went on the water again to visit a other group, with some friends we just made days before.
In the complete 3 day trip we've got loose from Ipad, Ipod, phone's, television, laptop's etc! To admit, we've never missed them, so beautiful is Algonquin Park, and so good is this trip organized.
A nice competition with runnig ans swimming, cliff jumping, all was in it. And of course!!! Animals:
all been seen in their natural habitat: Moos, Loon, Beaver, Sniper (Turtle). WOUW.
One evening I was talking with Jeromy alone, a the camp fire, after my wife and boys went to their tent. Thanking him for the hours we've spent together. not alone the experience of Algonquin Adventure tours (ATT), but also that he said: most people live in a world concrete! Stress, not knowing nature at all, anymore. And that is rightt! We've went back to nature, to be with each other, in nature.
What we've wanted, but then better as we've planned or thought it would be.!
Thanks to AAT, we treasure these days in our heart! And to those who want to escape the busy life, with tons of communcation coming to you day by day? 3 days AAT will do you good. From Sunrise, to sunset, you live the day! Thank you!!!!!!
ps: the photo's are awesome!
Love from Holland.

We booked a private canoe tour for end of June, so 1 week prior to Canada Day. We started at 4 pm, so we had Canoe Lake more or less for our own, just my wife and myself in the canoe, and Stuart of course. During 5 hours on different lakes including a dinner we felt Stuart´s enthusiasm for Algonquin, this is not only a job for him, he indulges his passion. He explains lots of things, teaches us in canoeing, but he also knows when it is time to be silent in order to enjoy Algonquin´s beautiful landscape.
This tour exceeded our expectations by far, we highly recommend Algonquin Adventure Tours! Thanks Stuart for a great time!!!

“Camping in style!”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

Me and some old friends from university decided to get together for a weekend a few years after graduation and someone suggested we go to Algonquin Park. After looking into it a bit we came across Algonquin Adventure Tours and booked our weekend with them after hearing that they were the best tour company in the Park. We didn't know what to expect given that we weren't big into camping, but it turned out to be an awesome experience! The guide (who also turned out to be the owner) was great and knew the park like the back of his hand. We were actually impressed by how good the food was, and how much we had to eat. Given that we were 4 guys with huge appetites this was important! We were also impressed by how much wildlife we saw. On our second day in the park we were guided on a canoe trip around the park and we ended up seeing a massive bull moose about 30 feet away from us!.

Our main goal was to relax, have fun, and catch up and this trip did not disappoint. I'm not surprised to see they are number one in Algonquin Park. I just booked my second trip for this summer and highly recommend them!

“Algonquin Canoe Trip with Stuart from Algonquin Adventure Tours”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

We visited Algonquin Park and were amazed by the stunning views, beautiful nature and very warm welcome of Stuart, our personal guide.
Despite horrible weather conditions, he made it an unforgettable trip.
With his professionalism and kindness, he really is the n° 1 guide in Algonquin Park.
He has top edge camping gears, canoes and delicious, self-prepared food!
If you plan to visit Algonquin, do not hesitate to arrange a canoe trip with Stuart !!

“Algonquin Park Canoe Trips”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

My husband and I just got back from our first trip to Algonquin Park, the highlight of which was a canoe day trip with Stuart, the owner of Algonquin Park Canoe Trips. This was a unique experience because it enabled us to try something completely new, an activity we would have never undertaken so spontaneously on our own. We love nature and spend as much time outdoors as we can, but when it comes to dealing with equipment that's a different story. With Stuart, we were paddling within minutes (after a short but highly efficient training session), speechless at the sheer beauty of the place (we were lucky in that the season is just starting and we barely met anyone else during our 5+ hour trip). We paddled across Canoe Lake and then portaged the canoe to Joe Lake. We had a delicious dinner (included in the fare) while basking in the sunset in complete solitude, and then hiked up to the highest point on that little island to admire the view. Nothing short of a fairy tale! Stuart was great company, so patient with the numerous questions we had, and a well of information to our thirsty minds, newly awakened to the beauty of, and the possibilities offered by this park. So far, we have simply found no access to such splendor, such peace and quiet doing the more conventional things (drive, bike, hike). It turns out the places of our dreams were a canoe ride away :) This is ideal for anyone who is craving a taste of nature in its purest form but does not want to do a lot of planning, invest in the proper equipment, and take it step by step in order to acquire the necessary expertise. We felt safe at all times, the equipment was brand new, we learned a lot of new things, and the glimpses we had into Stuart's amazing life story were a bonus. We cannot wait to go back for a longer trip (and to swim in those waters!). I am also very intrigued by the idea of winter camping - another activity I'd never dare plan on my own but which I would gladly undertake with the proper guidance. One last thing - in my opinion, the price cannot be beaten. This experience is worth every penny and more - and I really don't think one hears this very often these days.
