Superb location, at the lake in the middle of Algonquin park. Nice basic but cosy houses to stay in, good beds and a proper bathroom with a bath, Very good food! Don't forget to bring your own wine! From the lodge you can do lovely canoetrips. In the park you have many nice trails with beautyfull views. You can arrange a lunchbox in the lodge.

We stayed at the Lodge for 3 days in early October - had perfect sunny weather. We stayed in Silver Birches and appreciated the extra storage the bunk bed room provided. The staff were uniformly extremely friendly and very helpful with suggestions for hikes and activities in the Park. The meals are definitely "haute cuisine" with several choices for each course both at breakfast and dinner. We had the box lunch one day and the sandwiches were excellent as well. The fact that the lodge is only accessible by boat and the lack of connectivity (other than the main lounge area) really adds to the feeling of being away from it all. The BYOB is a great addition to dinner -- as well as lounging on the dock. There is absolutely no down side to staying here.

Room Tip: The two cabins farthest from the main lodge are somewhat isolated + therefore less noise (mostly run...

We stayed here for 3 nights recently, with our Canadian friends and a Kiwi / Aussie. It was the highlight of my US / Canada trip. The setting on the lake, friendly staff, and the food, omg the food was outstanding, compliments to all the chefs, every night the food was to be savoured, yum!
My only disappointment is the Moose didn't show! Canoeing was fun, and the hiking great. Highly recommend and hope to come back one day.

The beginning of our trip to Canada could not have been spent at a better place. Fantastic friendly staff, spectacular scenery, yummy food, authentic cabin, and great hikes. Totally recommend and would love to stay longer.

This place is amazing! The whole experience is wonderful. We were only there for two nights, and although it was expensive, it was worth it. It was peaceful and relaxing, doing absolutely nothing. We did venture out on a canoe which was interesting, but as novices, we were assisted by an experienced canoeist. The cabins are not large, but everything is there, and our cabin looked out over the lake. Dinner is in two sittings, and the quality of the food was excellent.
One small issue, was a sharp piece of plastic found in an omelette at breakfast, that apparently came from a container. Although there was an apology, it was all very 'matter of fact', with no real feeling.
I would still recommend this place to rest and unwind after a touring holiday....Stunning!!

Our fourth or fifth stay at Bartlett this past weekend was in celebration of our 28th Anniversary. Arrived to a dozen roses in the cabin and no idea how staff managed to get those there given the distances to towns that would have flower shops. As always, the food was just stunning - we never bother asking for a packed lunch for canoeing days because breakfast and dinner are more than enough. We've always rented the Sunrise cabin and I stayed with our son in one of the tents one year; this time we were in Wildflowers. We find we do prefer a cabin with a woodstove, like sunrise has and next time we'll book far enough in advance to make sure we get one. Love the new guest lounge, "Isobel's cabin" which was under construction last time. The weather was unseasonably cool so we had one glorious day on the water exploring the entire Cache Lake, and one badly needed day of cocooning in the cabin and just enjoying being inaccessible to everyone from home and work. I can always feel the decompressing begin from the moment we sit down in the water taxi, and by the time one steps onto the lodge's dock five minutes across the bay, the city seems to be an extra few hundred miles away. We will be back. Again and again.

Room Tip: Try to get one with a fireplace or wood stove. If you use a C-Pap machine though, let staff know as...
