Have had many visits to this lovely hotel, almost all out of season. This is a family owned and individually run establishment which also doubles as the heart and soul of the community. The first time we came here, more than 10 years ago, we loved the style and it is just as good today. The old building was brought up to date and remains very good with everything working well. The bathrooms, the TVs and the Wifi are all excellent.
The food has had some changes over the last year and remains fresh, original and with good portion sizes. Great fish and seafood, especially the locally caught langoustines and great locally sourced meat. The breakfasts are really good with imaginative fresh fruit salads as well as traditional eggs and bacon. The smoked salmon and scrambled eggs is an example to other establishments how to do it.
All of the above would be nothing if the staff did not provide a welcome and this is the real strength of this place. As on all previous visits we were made to feel welcome and greeted as if we lived next door. Even very good and expensive chain hotels can never enter the league that this hotel plays in.
The hotel is situated in a beautiful village, right on the waterfront. The views are spectacular, even in the famed west coast bad weather. This is a great center for touring the West coast and Skye.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a view to the front in good weather. In bad weather there is a large room to the ba...

All that we had read prior to our arrival was almost too good to be true, but as soon as we netered the town and then the hotel, we were indeed impressed. This hotel and this town is a must! We had nice meals - both dinner and breakfast and they were excellent.

We have just returned from a week travelling in Scotland. The Plockton Hotel has to be the nicest small Hotel we have ever stayed in & what value for money!
Lovely rooms (althought the showers are a bit hot!), view amazing, lovely people - so friendly & helpful. We stayed at the beginning of November so were lucky to be staying when they had an offer for Dinner, bed & breakfast - amazing food and portions! only managed a dessert on one of the evenings. All in all a great 3 day break!

The B&B is situated in a pub in the heart of the pretty town of Plockton. Walking into the pub, I didn't expect much. It looked a bit dated with a lot of pine. We had a warm welcome and were taken to our room straight away. The room was a complete shock; modern, clean, big, massive TV, DVD player, good TV, coffee and biscuits. The bed was also great.

We had dinner in the evening which was ok. A little overpriced but tasty enough. Breakfast was very nice. I had delicious porridge and a bacon sandwich.

I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone.

Great hotel. Room was superb. Food amazing. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Cant understand why previous reviewers were disapponited with the breakfast? Cereals, fruit, lovely fresh juice, toast, preserves, great choice of hot courses. Fish amazing!
Throughly recommend!

We spent one night at the Plocton Hotel. It is a beautiful building in a marvelous spot. The managers are great - friendly and helpful. We ate in the bar and stayed on to listen to teh local musicians. It was perfect. However, as we booked late, we spent the night in the cottage annex rather than the main hotel. We found it to be extremely noisey, as we could hear every movement the couple upstairs made, and their baby crying in teh night. We mentioned this to the manger on leaving and he very quickly and without any hassle charged us £40 rather than the full £80 rate, which we felt very happy with. We would definitely return but would look to stay in teh main hotel.

I think it is the friendly and efficient service that tops the great sea food and rooms.
