“Excellent accommodation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Stayed in these lodges for a weekend as part of a group. We had three lodges between us.

I was in Crowlin.

It was cosy and very comfortable, apart from the very high cushions on the two chairs in the living room - not great for someone with short legs like me! The heating system was very good at heating the room quickly. Great when you come in from the cold, although the living room heater could be set with a timer.

Every facility provided including bedlinen and towels which were lovely and big.

All in all a very good place to stay.

“Lovely lodge, relaxing holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

I stayed at Duirinish in May (a bit of a late review ) with my wife, 2 grown up children, daughter's friend and my brother. We all stayed in Rona Lodge and we had a fantastic holiday. The lodge has been extended and provided plenty of room for our group and immediately it felt home from home.
On arrival there was milk, tea bags, coffee and biscuits waiting for us which was a nice touch. The kitchen itself was so well equipped there were more utensils and things than in our kitchen at home! Having tomato ketchup, salt, pepper and cooking oil in the cupboards was also useful.
The location of the lodge is perfect giving you chance to explore Skye and the surrounding area easily.
There was plenty of information about things to do in the area, including a list of lovely walks of varying length, along with a list of beautiful beaches to visit. Also recommended, was a very nice Chinese takeaway in the Kyle of Lochalsh, well worth as visit!
We enjoyed it so much that on arriving home we immediately booked up for the same week next year.
Thank you Sue (owner) for a lovely holiday and we look forward to seeing you next year.

“Perfect place to stay and visit the Wester Ross and Skye”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

The lodge was very well furnished and very cosy. We really enjoyed getting back to our lodge every evening and spending the evening there. We used the barbecue every day but could not eat outside because of the midges. Anyway the stay was perfect and we made good use of Sue's advises. It was a pleasure every morning to meet the free roaming highland cows in Duirinish. We enjoyed every bit of our stay there and would recommend it to all our friends. Pictures of the lodges should be updated. We had a flat screen TV set in our lodge and not the TV we had seen on the pictures.

“Great base for touring Skye and the western highlands”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We stayed here for 3 nights. I was so excited to be staying in a log cabin (all those years of watching Little House on the Prairie) and I was not disappointed. The cabin (Rhum) was very well equipped and Sue had thoughtfully provided us with milk, tea, coffee and biscuits which were much appreciated. The cabins are close to the village of Duirinish with its free roaming highland cattle and 2 miles from picturesque Plockton. It is very easy to get to Skye - I can highly recommend a trip to Raasay too. I would definitely return here to see more of the area. If you want to eat out in Plockton book in advance - we didn't and so ended up at the Tingle Creek in a nearby village which was excellent with views of the sun setting over Skye.

“Fantastic, Relaxing, Peaceful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

I have just returned from a 3 night break with staying at Eigg lodge and it was simply amazing. It is located in a peaceful area with the trees and flora surrounding you. The manager Sue is lovely and you will also get a warm welcome from her lovely dogs, cat and the Bantoms...was so nice of her to bring round a newly hatched chick to hold. The lodge is lovely and very well equipped (the kitchen has more utensils than mine). The bedrooms are lovely with nice bed linen and the whole place is spotless. Outside there is a lovely wooden decking area to soak up the sun (if its out) or to simply relax and have a BBQ. Plockton is amazing. You can sit for hours on a sunny day just looking out over the water, the food at all the places is also amazing (seafood galore). It is about a mile and a half from the lodges but a taxi is available if after a few beers! I so hope to return soon and would quite happily live at these lodges.......back to reality for me! All together a great escape...love it! Thank you for a great holiday..x

“good but not 5 star”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

Good points . Owner nice. Cabin clean with nice bed linen and towels . Good heating.
Not so good points Cabin had strong smell of dampness . Bathroom floor suffering from damp (sinking near wash hand basin) . Very dimly lit so much so it was actually depressing (we had to remove the shades from the table lamps in order to read a book). Sofa and chairs, in particular, uncomfortable. We enjoyed our holiday but were disappointed as we expected more from the ratings provided here and on the visit scotland site.
