Recently spent a couple of nights in this beautiful Village and found this B& B via the Plockton Website. Captains House is over 200 years old and a lovely family home. We were made very welcome by Julie and enjoyed our breakfasts round a huge table with the other guests.

Room Tip: Only two rooms and both very comfortable with ensuite facilities

I selected this B & B on what I had read on other reviews on the internet. I was not disapointed. The room we had was large, was decorated with traditional furnishings - the bed was just right - I like it firm, but comfortable too. The en suite was small and functional. (my husband says it had good quality iinternet conection - he always takes the lap top !) Over a very full and tasty breakfast Julia told us the history of the house whcih goes a long way to explain the furnishings, as they are all family heirlooms - and very interesting they were too. I very much enjoyed our one night stay, Plockton is a nice quiet village and at the Captains House we had excellent value, comfortable room, tasty breakfast, lovely hostess and a very friendly cat !

The Captains House is a real gem. It is a lovely traditional B&B with comfortable spacious rooms, great breakfast, superb hospitality, great price and great location. It is about as far away as possible from what you get with these horrible chain type lodges. It is tastefully furnished with family antiques and heirlooms and has a great history. Many thanks to Julia for making a wee 2 day break very enjoyable.

We have no hesitation in recommending this B&B in lovely Plockton. Julia Asiedhu and her family made us so welcome. The beds are comfortable, the rooms furnished with antiques and the breakfasts are ample, made with locally sourced ingredients with lots of delicious choice. For a short break there is no need to have a car as the local train stops frequently along a scenic route.

Captains House – Julia Asiedu – 2, Innes Street, Plockton.

Really – I do not know why it took med years to write this short review.
Maybe it is the same reason, why I always forgot to write a short comment in Julia’s guestbook?
Just a line or two?
I – and my wife – have stayed here for three years.
Four - if you count 2012 in…
That should tell it all.

Plockton itself is a hidden gem – so I shouldn’t really be mentioning it here, as I prefer to keep hidden gems to myself.
Situated close to the Skye Bridge, it’s an ideal base for exploring the North West of Scotland.

The Captains House overlooks the Loch Carron – only a few meters from the harbour, less than one minute to the Haven Hotel and Plockton Inn – and just two minutes walk from the Plockton Hotel.

Julia does a lot to maintain the traditional atmosphere in the 200year old house – at the same time there is central heating throughout, modern bathrooms and – of course – wireless internet.

When we stay at Julia’s, we feel a more like part of the family, than as paying guests.

And the breakfast at the Captains House?
Very delicious, ample, and always served with a great smile.
You won't be disappointed.

Lovely warm welcome, very clean, great breakfast, and the rooms are so full of interest and real charm, unbelievable for the price. We were two couples and this place just fit the bill, and is so reasonable. Book now!!!

Room Tip: Only two rooms both great!! One has a better view of the bay!

This was a great find in Plockton, Scotland - warm and friendly hosts and a wonderful corner room with a view to the water. The Captain's House is filled with great antiques and feels like a step back in time. Delicious breakfast and very reasonably priced....would recommend it highly to any traveler.
