“Booked for one night stayed 2 !!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2014

I was advised to stay here by the good folk at the Ayre Hotel in Kirkwall and what a surprise. Well appointed rooms, best beds i had slept in for sometime. Good satalite tv service and exceptional food and service. Nice wee bar at the back with friendly locals. Jim and his staff did absolutley everything i could have asked. Will stay again when i come back.

Room Tip: Room 8 was great.

I visited the borgie last week for a meal with family. On arrival a lovely homely log burner was blazing. So nice and warm and relaxing. Nice variety in the menu. The food took hardly anytime to come. I ordered the chicken goujons , which were lovely thick pieces of chicken and a lovely light batter coating with a little spice to them. Sooooo good. The other two members with me both ordered steak which was equally as good. A good size plate full of all the extras, onion rings, tomatoes, mushrooms, chips.

All in all it was a lovely meal and great atmosphere. Will definitely be going back there next time I'm up that way.

Tasha x

Well it was steak and all the trimmings. Myself Daughter and Son in Law. What a lovely place the bar is very snug log burner and good company with the locals. Free pool table lost three games but the food made up for it. The steak was perfectly cooked to order and all the trimmings just right. Tomato, onion rings, mushrooms and peas with fresh chips just the job. Jimmy the boss man looked after us and it was a lovely evening out with family.

Worth Five Stars ten times over.

Great rooms, fantastic food, great location and the most friendly staff in the highlands. Jimmy and all staff made us feel most welcome. Quiet secluded location, spectacular scenery and all you could ever wish for in the Scottish Highlands. Try a packed lunch during your stay!

Haste ye back? Most definitely!

From the moment you step in you are made to feel at home, with fantastic food and friendly welcoming staff, would recommend anybody pay this wonderful home a visit and enjoy a few wee drams! The chef added his personal touch by coming out to check on diners himself!

Borgie Lodge has one of the nicest bars I've been in; cozy and friendly and never short of good craic. The staff are great people and made us feel welcome from the first evening. We spent a couple of months in Skerray and by the end we didn't want to say goodbye to them! It's an excellent place to eat as well - the food was definitely the best we found and as a vegetarian I found they really went the extra mile, cooking something new and delicious up for me every time. A really exceptional place to go if you get the chance. Thanks Eskie, Jimmy, Rebecca!
