“Fantastic!”
Review of Achmelvich Beach

I drove from Golspie to Achmelvich Bay on a day that was supposed to get to 23 degrees. Beatiful drive on mostly single track road. Parking at the beach is very limited, and because of the weather, it was busy, but I found a spot on the grass. Then to see the white sand and crystal turquoise water was amazing! The temperature rose and I was able to swim, along with many others, who were also braving the cold water. Once you got used to it, it was so refreshing! The sand was perfect - no rocks, or anything else to worry about stepping on. There were people enjoying boating, water skiing, swimming etc., all the things you expect in the Mediterranean, not the North Atlantic Sea! There were sheep on the hill on one side and nice paths up the hill on the other side for hiking or laying in the sun, as many were. The only downfall of the day was that it was a Tuesday. I had planned on getting Fish and Chips for lunch as I had read there was a shop there. There is, but unfortunately, is is not open on Tuesdays. Other than that, it was a perfect day! Highly recommend it!

We arrived on a wet evening in May, by the time we got to the beach the sun was back out. I think the best advise would be is to visit, you will not be disappointed.

Decided to head up to Ullapool from Inverness bed as so close decided to visit Achmelvich Beach. Not easiest beach to reach but that's perhaps why it is so unspoilt x give your self plenty time to get there and be patient with passing places . The car park is located nearby and toilets are located nearby. As soon as you see the beach you realise the drive was all worthwhile . White sand and crystal clear sea. Looking out from the beach you could be in some Caribbean resort. Even the sun was out and it was April . Anyway worth a visit. We had the dog and he loved the beach too lol

Even on a cloudy day it's a beautiful place to walk and the views are splendid. We camped nearby and enjoyed watching all the watersports taking place.

Not much around here but there are lovely white sands and blue waters. Could be mistaken for the Bahamas if the sun came out!
