Wonderful location with amaizing views accross Lochinver and the mountains behind. Ample parking. About a 30min slow walk to the center of the village or a 6min drive.

If you can would recomend splashing out on the 'penthouse suite' where you can gaze out the window with a nice glass of something into the late highland summer evenings.

We recieved a lovely warm welcome and a fantastic breakfast in the morning. We will be back!

First time visitors to The Albannach - a delightfully positioned boutique hotel which (until recently) had a Michelin Star restaurant within. The owners have now transferred their high end culinary skills into The Caberfeidh - a local gastropub that they acquired fairly recently.

Our room (5) was detached from the main building and had separate access which was great. It has its own hot tub and garden which certainly add to the experience. Room quality was excellent - furnished to a very high standard with everything you would expect from a 4 star establishment. The hosts, Colin and Lesley, are simply charming and the warmth of their hospitality is endearing.

Knowing how critical communication is for most of us today, be aware that network signal may be an issue (it was for me with Vodafone) and Wifi was intermittent on our visit, so you have been warned!

I’ve reviewed The Caberfeidh separately - suffice to say, it’s great food in a relaxed and informal environment, reflective of its owners and Lochinver itself.

The breakfast (Lesley’s creation!) is a real treat to start the day - all local produce, from the incredible raspberries to the absolutely delicious smoked Lochinver salmon.

You won’t be disappointed here based on our experience. Great value for money too.

We stayed here for one night during October 2017.

The location is fantastic and the hotel is very rustic and traditional but our room was certainly modern and luxurious.

The afternoon tea was outstanding as was our entire evening meal and breakfast.

The staff were knowledgeable and helpful and I would certainly recommend staying here.

My only suggestion would be to tidy the grounds but this certainly did not impact upon our stay.

We booked a stay here on our tour of Scotland.
Our room was the loft suite, a big comfy bed, a lounge room, and a great bathroom.
The linen is lovely and bath robes and slippers are provided, always a nice touch.
Upon arrival we were treated to coffee and cakes, beautiful.
Dinner was at eight and consisted of seven dishes. All local produce and of an excellent standard. This was our first fine dining experience at a Michelin rated restaurant, and we were not disappointed.
The food certainly has the wow factor, and now the bar has been set very high.
Staff are friendly and the owner came out to say goodbye as we were leaving, a nice touch.
We can recommend the Albannach as a place to stay.

Stayed for one night and had the fixed dinner menu. I was under whelmed regarding the entire experience. Our room was small but decent. The bathroom was very nice. The entire hotel/house appeared to be in need of some attention. I was appalled that the wait staff were completely clueless as to menu etc. Food was nice but not worthy of a Michelin star.
