We stayed at the Albannach for 1 night in May as the first part of a Highlands trip. It’s a pleasant old house with an amazing view. We were the only people staying which created an odd atmosphere (e.g no one to greet us for 15mins after we arrived). Lovely breakfast though and a nice traditional room.
The major problem for us was lack of any mobile signal and the WiFi was down. Unfortunately I had to take important work calls during our stay and had expressly called up before the visit to ensure we’d have connectivity. I was told we would and yet we arrived and it had been down for 10 days. I ended up working in a scruffy hotel in Lochinver!
Finally, it’s too expensive for the standard of hotel and service. For a lower price I would recommend it for anyone that wants a traditional highlands stay off the beaten track. More
