“Great value winter weekend”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

My husband stayed here with a friend for a weekend. The room was clean and recently refurbished. The hotel was comfortable and they were given a warm welcome from the friendly owner. The food including breakfast was more than adeqate and there was a real fire. They paid £105 for two nights B&B for two people, excellent value for a winter weekend.

The room was OK, the evening meal was good but breakfast was a bit slow out of the blocks. Packed lunch was adequate, an important consideration when hiking. The building has some character and the town of Strathyre is very pretty.

We have just enjoyed three nights at the Inn at Strathyre and everything was great. A fun Saturday night with the locals and dinner of pigeon breast and duck breast. Host Steve could not have been more accommodating for our requirements including an early breakfast on our last morning. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious and for the money was very good value. Meals were fine. Wine and beer selection and prices comparable with all opposition pubs. We will return if in the area again.

We don't like giving negative reviews but feel in a spirit of honesty that we have to. This was the only place in the village to eat, so we went in and found a group of locals at the bar who appeared not to have moved since 1979. We braved it and ordered some food - nobody else was eating - and sat at a table away from the bar. Both floor and table were sticky, tablemats were ancient and the food, when it arrived, ordinary. We felt uncomfortable here and were pleased to pay up and leave.

as a local I highly recommend that you do not visist this pub as the owener has a serious problem towards customers that have an opinion!!!!!!! I food is very very bland, not your usual pub food, not even a steak pie on the menu !!!!!!!! only reason this pub is doing ok is because other two pubs are closed ,£3.10 for a pint of tenants and that is the cheapest beer others and wine cost close to £4.95.bar staff are so rude but owner don't accept that they are !!!!, bar is so dated and needs a damm good clean, same as toilets, skirting boards are rotting in the gents so god knows what rooms are like ,

Room Tip: if other hotels were open am sure this pub would be quiet!!!!

This is a very friendly and well presented pub and B&B . We stayed three nights in a family room and the staff could not have been more friendly or polite. The breakfast really set us up for the day exploring this lovely part of the world. I would have no hesitation in returning and/ or recommending The Inn to anyone who asked. The room was always clean and plenty big enough for the three of us. Very good value .

Room fine, bar fine, food fine. Staff friendly. No carpet in corridor and landing pretty grubby but we could live with that. What stunned us was the aggressive manner of the owner in the morning. we were told breakfast was at 8.30am so dutifully got up and ready for 8.30am. The only other guest was also up but the restaurant was locked up and no sign of life. The other guest, who had experienced this before, seemed to know how to wake the owner up, but it was 45 minutes later before he stormed in and proceeded to give us absolute verbal abuse. We were actually shaking while we were eating our breakfast that he finally threw down in front of us. This guy should not be in the business and should step aside for someone who wants to give visitors the service that we deserve.

Room Tip: do not stay here until it has changed ownership.
