Cherry Gunn greeted us with a warm welcome and a very comfortable room. Only 1.5 hours from Glasgow airport, it was the perfect start to our Scottish trip around the highlands and west coast. Gordon's food was exceptional - local produce prepared with expert panache. We loved the lions and old world charm too! We'll definitely put Creagan House at the top of our list for this trip! We have just spent one night at this charming hotel nestled in the hills near Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. We received a really warm welcome, the bedroom was charming as was the hostess. The food was really good, and we very much enjoyed the baronial dining room with interesting pottery served with each course. I wish we had time to stay longer but I would thoroughly recommend this for a break in a lovely part of Scotland.

Gordon`scooking very original, local, delicious, deserving of place in Good food Guide.Served at 8 ,not finished till past 10 so don`t come if you`ve nothing to say to each other!.Room cosy and comfortable plenty hot water .Situated handy for cyclewaysand walks. .Decor a wee bit chintzy but charming.Agree dining room a bit large and echoey if few diners but is quite a dramatic gesture for a small country place.Service excellent and friendly from Cherry . This should be seen as an up market B&B with outstanding cuisine rather than a luxury stay-the food is the star, everything revolves around it ,accept this and you will enjoy your stay.

This was out fifth stay at Creagan House and the quality of the food and hospitality offered by Cherry and Gordon was as good as ever. After a long winter's walk in the hills it was lovely to just relax and enjoy Gordon's cordon bleu cookery complemented by a fine wine list at affordable prices. Cherry's attention to detail was second to none.

The Gaelic steak was delicous and cooked to perfection. The "smokie in a pokie" starter is not to be missed and the sticky toffee pudding with local Italian ice cream is to die for. We cannot wait for our next visit.

Creagan House was the second Restaurant with accommodation we had booked after trawling through innumerous Websites and hotel guides and finally like all our "resting places" we looked to see what trip advisors visitors had to say about it before making our final decision. The proprietors Gordon & Cherry Gunn are great hosts, know most of their guests who return time after time. We thought that nowhere could be quite as good as our previous hotel in the lake district, but we were mistaken. Totally different in style, restaurant was like a baronial hall with highly polished tables Shields and crossed pikes on the walls, not a speck of dust to be seen. The food matched and was beautifully cooked and presented, There was a choice of menu, which one was asked to indicate when relaxing in the bar. Again we had to book our evening meal as would be expected. Cherry was a mine of information and a great help and so easy to talk and listen to. For fish lovers Gordon does "A smokie in a pokie" which I shall attempt, as Cherry gave me the recipe before we left. All in all it was a lovely place to stay and again we would like to return.

This must have been our 12th visit to Creagan House, and it was as wonderful as ever. Our room had been quite recently re-decorated, in a style entirely consonant with the age and character of the building - lovely fabrics and colours. The attention to detail and the cleanliness of all rooms (few hotel bathrooms are as clean as all those here - and we have stayed in nearly all of the rooms) are both consistently amazing. Dinner was up to Gordon's usual high standard - imaginative, beautifully cooked and carefully and professionally served by Cherry and Susan. Wine, as always, is from an interesting list, well-kept and at the right temperature! A good night's sleep in the comfortable bed was suitably followed by one of Gordon's excellent breakfasts, with locally sourced ingredients, freshly squeeezed orange juice and home-made marmalade.
We'll be back!
