“Jedburgh Jem”
Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

A very lovely 5* modern B and B with views over Jedburgh and minutes to the high street for restaurants and of course the abbey.

Owner, Mike and his partner are perfect hosts and have great taste in decor, furniture, food and eclectic art.

I actually think my view of B and B's has changed - we were able to sit in a lovely conservatory and have a perfect breakfast in a dining room fit for guests and friends.

We highly recommend

Jedburgh was a surprisingly wonderful village with excellent eateries and friendly people. The hosts at this B&B went out of their way to assist us with directions and reservations. An excellent place to stay?

This is a great B&B - one of the best we have ever stayed in, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Nice breakfast, great shower and comfy bed. We stayed in Room No.1 with a kingsize bed - very spacious with a fine view of Jedburgh. This is a great place to stay for a couple of days. Don't miss Jedburgh Abbey even in it's ruined state it still looked stunning. Mike, our host, recommended and booked a couple of local restaurants for us - the Clock Tower and Carters Rest both of which were good. The Clock Tower is particularly recommended. We would also recommended the pub nearby - the Exchange Inn. Even if it is very busy - be brave and head for the bar - you will be assured of a warm welcome.

Willow Court is ideally situated in Jedburgh - a few minutes walk from the town centre but very quiet at night. Plenty of car parking space too. Our room (the queen) was at the back of the house, overlooking the garden. Decor was lovely, shower was very good, nice bedlinen, tea and coffee, good lighting - everything you could want. Breakfast was served at a table for 6 with the other guests and we had a lovely choice. I took the full Scottish breakfast and it was delicious, served with lovely Earl Grey tea. My husband had the healthy option of fruit and yoghurt with toast and coffee and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Willow Court is a very comfortable, welcoming B & B and I would certainly recommend it and will indeed stay there again.

This was one of the most unexpected surprises during my trip to the borders. I was drawn to the look of this charming B&B but it was unparalleled by the beauty on the inside; modern, luxurious and affordable. My hosts were nothing short of welcoming and warm. The breakfast couldnt have been fresher as the eggs were harvested from the yard earlier that morning. I simply can not wait to return to the Willow Court. Wish I could rate it over 5 ★'s.

Right from our arrival Mike made us feel more than welcome, showed us to our fantastic,
spacious room and asked us to feel free to use the guest conservatory and pour ourselves a sherry.
Breakfast was top-notch and the bed and room so comfortable we were more than happy
that we had already pre-booked a return stay from our trip to the Highlands.
Will definately recommend to all family and friends.

We stayed at Willow Court as a one night stopover. Mike was very welcoming on our arrival. Room was lovely and clean and breakfast was excellent. The scrambled eggs were delicious. Would recommend this lovely guest house to anyone thinking of staying in Jedburgh.
