My wife and I stayed here for 1 night (a Sunday) in November. We had booked a 4 poster room and were not disappointed at all. A very large spacious room with a comfortable 4 poster bed. Bathroom was small, with a small bath with shower over.

The view from the room was very nice, looking right over Strangford Lough.

Food in the hotel was excellent, we had both a snack lunch (soup and caesar salad) which was very good and then dinner in the Bistro (steak sandwich and seafood chowder) which was superb. The service was very good at both these meals. Breakfast in the morning was good, a freshly cooked Ulster fry rather than a buffet which is so prevalent nowadays in hotels. Service at breakfast was a little unfriendly but not a disaster!

The lounge area with a roaring fire was nice to sit in for a coffee or pre/post-dinner drink.

Overall a very relaxing stay in a very nice hotel.

Room Tip: Room 11 - very nice indeed, is a 4 poster room, not sure if it is the only one or not but very nice...

Just home from hotel and had a really great time, hotel was quaint and homely. It doesn't have modern decor but it has great oldie lovely stuff and just makes you want to chill. They had fires lit which was totally class and we had lunch in bar which was v yummy also ate tea which was also yummy top class food which we were told was by the junior chef!! The lady at reception was really friendly and all staff were equally great. One night is not enough here... We will defiantly be back!!!!

Hotel staff were very helpful too. Posted back something I had forgot.
Hotel clean and comfortable. Great rooms if you are overlooking the water. Great breakfast too.

we stayed in this hotel with a group of friends for my wife's birthday in October. On arrival one of the couples was allocated a room with no view but staff were quick to offer an upgrade to a room with a view. One of the main attractions of this hotel is the view over Strangford Lough so make sure you request a room with a view when booking

We booked a deal which included spending the afternoon in the kitchens with the hotel chefs. This was a great way to spend an afternoon when the weather is poor. Our visit had been double-booked with another group of visitors which was not great but this was probably a one-off.

Our stay also included an evening meal and we were allowed to order whatever off the a la carte menu. The food was great.

The hotel bar is very pleasant and overall we found all the staff to be friendly and very helpful, This is a quiet good value hotel and a great location for a short break.

Room Tip: book a room with a view of the Lough. Both corner rooms in the hotel have four poster beds and great...

This was our first hotel stay for our Ireland trip this year. What a great hotel. We got a window overlooking the lough and it was beautiful, even in the rain. We also ate in the hotel restaurant and were equally delighted. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. The beds were one of the few that were actually comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel

A small hotel/restaurant/bar on the banks of Strangford Lough. We have stayed a number of times of the years and the food, service and accomodation has always been excellent. The views speak for themselves, but for value for money you really cant beat this one and yes we will be going back.

Room Tip: The lough facing rooms are the ones to go for.
