Main courses good...steak, Barnsley chop. Service excellent and a cosy place to eat on a damp evening.

Deserts ...or the one we had...wouldn't look out of place at a pretentious place in London....but in the Lakes....rhubarb crumb in a glass, and with a a dollop of ice cream and a cape gooseberry seems oddly our of place....and inappropriate.

We were staying in Glenridding as a stopover on the long drive home to Scotland. What a beautiful place. The Hotel had an apealing looking restaurant but we fancied going out for a more informal supper. I looked on Tripadvisor and found the great reviews for Fellbites. They had a table free so we booked and walked the short distance from the hotel. The meal was excellent, large platefulls of good quality, straightforward, honest food served by friendly staff. The dinner 'deal', which included a bottle of wine, was good value for money and the wine was lovely. All in all a great choice when watching your Ps and Qs in the posh hotel restaurant isn't quite what you are looking for. Would definately visit again next time we are in the area.

We stumbled across this little cafe-cum-restaurant whilst staying in Glenridding and was really impressed. The atmosphere was really cosy with friendly and efficient staff. The food was very good and we went for a three course option with a bottle of wine included and thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate.

How nice to be able to walk from our B and B out to dinner. The village is quiet and peaceful. We had prix fixe meals and they were fine. Enjoyed smoked salmon and lamb chops for dinner. The wine included in the price was fine too.

Half cafe, half informal restaurant, right in the middle of the village opposite the visitor centre. The decor is nice, the staff are friendly, and there's a good choice of meals. The food was tasty, the wine list not bad at all, and there was bottled local ale available (no draft beer). A little more expensive than pub grub - but worth it.
