“What a lovely welcoming place!”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

Me and my boyfriend were only planning to stay for 1 night at EKA Beach but we stayed for 3 nights! Unfortunately we had to move on but we would have loved to stay even longer if we had the time!

This is such a beautiful place with a lot of eye for detail in the decoration and look & feel and we were soooooo happy to find it!

Right at the beach to go for a morning swim and afterwards having the best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka! A huge fresh fruit platter, curd, a lovely milkshake and perfect eggs with BROWN bread and delicious tea :-) Everything made with love! Also our lunch (special sandwiches) was fabulous!

We had the small room, but super cosy and a great bed AND the room was super super CLEAN and every day they cleaned the room again!

The staff is really helpful and friendly and we felt very welcome during our stay! They advised us some very good restaurants in Galle (15 minutes by Tuk Tuk) and on the beach were we had some really nice food. We would definitely recommend this place to other travelers! Eka is like a small treasure you will find during your traveling, go check it out! <3

We stayed at EKA Beach for more than one week in the sea room. EKA is a really great place to just relax, surf and lie on the beach. The breakfast was the best breakfast we ever had. The staff is super friendly and will fullfil every wish you may have.

The beach in front of the hotel is just beautiful. We definitely recommend this place for a romantic getaway.

Originally we were to stay 2 nights but we stayed 11!!!!

You have the main strip Unawtuna about 3 mins by Tuk Tuk away where you'll find the bars and restraints but the beaches are very crowded and small.

At EKA you have a quiet beache, sun loungers (where you'll see turtles swimming by every day!!!) everything you need is close by.
We hired a moped which the manager arranged for us at a cheaper price than we were quoted at Unawtuna.

You are located very well to visit Safari parks, Temples, Galle Fort, Marisa and loads more too! We decided to stay in this area as advised to by a friends Sri Laken family (they live in Colombo), and it was defiantly the best advice we got.
Great dive sites here too very close to the resort.

The beach side resort is suitable for couples, family's, single travers or business.

The rooms have multi sockets so we didn't need our plug adaptor, hair dryer, torch if you want to walk along the beach at night, alarm clock.
The rooms are cleaned every day and are beautiful.

The breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit, fruit juice, toast, curd and honey, omelet, or Sri Laken style which was one of our best sri Laken meals here!!!!

The staff and owner are very friendly and welcoming, nothing is any trouble.
Our friend wanted to know where he could buy a cricket bat to play with and the manager borrowed one and my friend had one instantly!
Same for snorkelling gear!!! (I swam with a turtle off the beach!)

Or you can chill out at the resort, there is a lovely breeze in the seating area and a hammock if you wanted to read or chat.

If you need anything booked like taxi, laundery etc the manager can arrange too. As I said very helpful.

It's quite new here and we was lucky it wasn't on booking.com at the time or I am sure it would have been booked up!!!

I would 100% visit here again and recommend it to friends and family.
The owner also has an apartment, but I've not seen it but going from the high standards here I am sure it would be great!

We had an amazing barbecued lunch here too!!!!

We has friends move from there hotel to here too as it was so nice!

Enjoy your stay in Sri Lanka

Room Tip: It's worth the extra for the room by the sea. All rooms are great.

We arrived at Eka with friends, to a very warm welcome & a lovely clean & comfortable resort. We stayed in room 3 which had a queen bed & a super single bed & is cleaned daily. Our friends stayed in a seaside room. You can sit outside your room & read a book or just relax or sit in the terraced area where you'll enjoy a scrumptious breakfast of a morning. Our breakfast consisted of fresh fruit (I loved the pineapple), yogurt & honey which they call curd & kittle, eggs, tomato, toast, fresh fruit juice & a pot of tea. All served with a friendly smile. They are quite happy to cook whatever you would like. The staff are there in the background, to help you if any need.
Just down the path is the entrance to the beach where we were lucky to see a turtle feeding off the rocks on our 1st day. It's lovely to go for a stroll 1st thing in the morning to the end where you'll see pole fisherman. The sunsets there were beautiful & we were even lucky to have fireworks 1 night on the beach. Eka is only a short tuk tuk ride to restaurants or Galle Fort. There were many restaurants to choose from & we were surprised to find quite a few that led onto the beach, so sometimes we just went for a drink. Overall we would recommend Eka, we had a lovely stay there after touring Sri Lanka. A great place to go with friends!
