“Couldn't have asked for more”

We just had our wedding at the Parador and we couldn't have asked for more. From the amazing views of the Parador, to the excellent food, the friendly staff, discount prices for our guests and a truly unforgettable honeymoon suite that was bigger than our apartment back home!
We got married at the Parador's chapel, which was really cute, with amazing views, and beautiful setting. It was just 20 meters away from the reception dinner. So easy and convenient for all of our guests.
Ana Turrado, the events planner for the Parador, was very helpful and a great professional who accommodated all of our needs, which were many, and sometimes unexpected. She dealt with all of our requests and last minute cancellations with calmness and made us feel like we were in really good hands. Her suggestions for the wedding were all excellent.
The staff at the Parador were very friendly and big kudos to the cook. From the vieiras, to the fish and lamb, everything was very tasty and tender. Thank you all!

Room Tip: The honeymoon suite is incredible. Work with Ana to get best deals for you and your guests.

All other reviews have stressed the location - which is indeed stunning. The walk around the old city walls is exceptional and should not be missed - regardless of the weather. As in all other Paradors, the room was large, clean, comfortable - but somehow the whole Parador seemed a bit soul-less. To be fair, it was out of season and we were often the only guests in the bar and restaurant, but even so the service was not good. It was my partner's birthday and I tried to organise champagne at 7.30 pm and the staff could not serve champagne by the glass or even by the bottle. We ended up with 2 quarter-bottles of Codorniu (warm) - not quite what I would have expected from 4 or 5 star hotels.
I am the first to admit that my Spanish is poor, but why cannot Parador chain recruit staff (at least at front desk) who are multi-lingual and enthusiastic ?? After all, we are the tourists, Parador is the government operated hospitality chain - how hard can it be ?

A great hotel in a fantastic location. The views of the Baiona Bay and of the islands are just Wonderful. The walk along the paths on the ancient walls from Bayona to the hotel are stunning, in particular at sunrise and sunset. Room, breakfast, and service were good as expected from this type of Hotel. Free wifi available. If you are ready to pay more ask for a room with sea view, in the morning the sound of the ocean is amazing. The center of Baiona is just ten minutes walking down the road with plenty of restaurants and tapas bar.

This has to be one of the best locations for a hotel anywhere, like Pendennis Castle and Point in Falmouth, but hotter and drier!

Usual Parador consistency with comfortable rooms, great breakfasts and delicious sea food at dinner in a slightly busy restaurant.

Close to the rocky beach, lovely walks around the peninsular.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

We spent three nights in this hotel and you could not wish for a better location the views from the room over the sea are fabulous and the walk around the old castle walls are truly breathtaking also the lower walk around the base of the castle walls are interesting it takes about 40 minutes to walk , the WiFi is not in the rooms only in the reception area if you have a lap top you can plug it in the rooms but no wireless modem (Why) ? So IPads /phones etc have to be used down stairs not always convenient , the breakfast is 20€ which seems a little bit steep and the rooms need a little TLC our window mechanism was not working properly so needed a bit of messing around to get it shut , the staff are very good and friendly , but it is the building itself which is worth the stay it is truly a wonderful place with lots of artwork and furniture and the saloon room above reception is truly stunning the floor is the most magnificent work of woodworkers skill .
The car parking was convenient and it was a short walk into town to a good selection of bars and restaurants , all in all a very nice place to go for a few days .

We went from Madrid to spend a weekend, with a group of friends. The Parador is an historic building, well preserved and with outstanding views. Prices are reasonable and food is excellent. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are a little old fashioned (something that is typical to Paradores), but well mantained. Not to miss a walk arond the peninsula where the Parador is located, facing the Islas Cies, a fantastic view.

Room Tip: Always sea view
