We had a super meal here and it was a great introduction to Aaturian food. We had the menu del dia for 19 euros which included a glass of wine and coffee with our three courses. Service was perfect. And the waitress was really helpful even although she couldn't speak English.

The welcome was very good and the lady who owns it is a delight. We had the menu de dia and it was good value, but not as flavoursome as we would like although the fish soup was great. The salad was plentiful but lacking in an interesting dressing sadly. The fish was well cooked but again just tasted of butter. It could have been so much better.
The other food from the a la carte menu looked terrific so if the cost is not a big issue I would suggest going that way.

We stayed at the Casa del Marques hotel and the staff recommended the restaurant, conveniently located in the quiet street behind the hotel.
The restaurant was quiet when we arrived at 20:30 hours and we had the place to ourselves until the other guests started coming around 22:00.
The hostess was very friendly, spoke very little English, but we managed to communicate anyhow.
The food was all very good, as were the house wines, and we are planning to return tonight for a second time.
Friendly atmosphere, not at all snobbish, and great value for money at approx Eur 25 pp. for 3 courses with wine, water & coffee.

We were staying in Santillana del Mar and had two meals at Gran Duque, which was convenient to our hotel. Our core requirement was wine, wine, fish and steak, and the restaurant acquitted itself well on all counts. Fish soup was excellent, as were the langostinos served in their shells. Our hostess was gracious and recommended good wines to go with our meal. The fish was fresh, although I was disappointed at the lack of selection given the proximity to the coast. My only gripe was the 3 euro charge for stale bread, but I had almost forgotten this minor gripe after the third bottle of great Spanish wine.

We had a pleasant dinner, simple food and delightful fish and local bean stew. The waitress was extremely pleasant and helpful. Amazingly reasonable too!
