This beautiful hotel has lovely sitting rooms and garden seating, and offered us delicious ice creams out in the patio when we arrived. It was an oasis amid the hordes of tourists filling the town. The rooms were nice and the atmosphere perfect.

Santillana is, by popular consensus, one of the most beautiful Spanish’ villages. Walking down its medieval streets, particularly on a summer night is a wonder. Stop by any of the multiple restaurants, food shops and cafes, a gilty pleasure.
Spending your down time at the ‘Casa del Marques’ the icing of the cake.
Charming!

The hotel, in historic building, was friendly and comfortable but doesn't really offer much for the price except for bed and location. When breakfast and car parking is added it is really quite expensive. There is no restaurant at the hotel but plenty of restaurants very close to the hotel (we ate at Gran Duque and Pasaje de Los Nobles, both recommended). Santillana del Mar itself is a very attractive old town well worth a few hours wandering around. We stayed for 2 nights and found this too long unless just using Santillana as a base for exploring the area.

Staff were very helpful, room comfortable and pleasant pretty sitting area behind the hotel. It’s in a wonderful old town and wandering the streets after day trippers have left and before they arrive is great. Comillas would be a good alternative nice old town, Gaudi designed buildings and a lovely beach if you can’t get a room in Santillana.

Santillana is a beautiful cobbled town, just delightful to walk around. The hotel is right in the middle - I would suggest you ask for instructions to the hotel car park as it was a little tricky to find. The hotel is just gorgeous, inside and out. Very historic with period rooms - all to a very high standard. There is a beautiful garden where you can enjoy a G&T and the breakfast is excellent. Staff are all very friendly and I would absolutely come back here again.
