This Inn is a nice looking building (although on the road edge) in the sleepy hollow of Ubiarco, about 10 minutes drive from the quaint village of Santillana del Mar.
The rooms are smallish, simply decorated and very clean. As long as you are out during the daytime, they also give the room and bathroom a once over each day, and they gave us fresh towels too.
There's a nice living room area to sit in also.
The owners were kind and helpful.
We were all disappointed by the breakfast though. The coffee and fresh orange juice was nice. But apart from that, there was a plateful of hard, cold toast and a selection of butters and jams, and normally each day an offering of some kind of supermarket bought pastry. It was a shame, because a nice, simple breakfast could have completely changed our opinion! If only the toast was fresh bread toasted, maybe a few slices of cold meats and cheeses, or grated tomato to go with the olive oil, it would have been a different story.
If you are a light sleeper you might be troubled by the noise of others walking on the tiled floors, or doors banging shut, but that may all depend on who is there at the same time.
For a cheapish, clean place to sleep, not too far from places to visit, then it's not bad. But don't count on a good breakfast. Probably for that reason alone, I wouldn't go back.
