This little establishment on the edge of Santillana was perfectly located - 5 minutes from the old town and a short trip to Altamira caves.

I'm not sure if any English was spoken at all, but it was a good chance to get a proper Spanish experience in what appeared to be a family run small hotel.

There's no air conditioning - and it was needed - though perhaps not often, it was unusually hot for the region. No signal on the non-Spanish TV channels.

Breakfast quite nice - bread, meat, cheese, croissant /cake, juice, coffee

Lovely little hotel just outside of the "old quarter". Staff very welcoming and helpful. Bedroom small but very comfortable and bathroom good too. Like most spanish hotels, there are no tea/ coffee making facilities in the room.
Breakfast comprised selection of meat & cheese plus pastries. Orange juice and tea/coffe. Again the staff were very friendly.
Good base for walking and cycling holiday as well as site seeing.

Having just done one week of random hotels of varying price and quality, this was a breath of fresh air. We dust tested every part, including hard to reach light fittings, stairs, nooks and crannies and found absolutely no dust or dirt. The owner could not have been more helpful when we told him we wanted to go off the beaten track walking. His knowledge of the area was impressive and contageous.
It was really refreshing not to have a buffet breakfast where there is so much waste, which is something that has come to our attention in our trip. They had everything we asked for that wasn't out though.
If you want a bath, however, as a 6 foot giant and 5 foot midget, bathing was a very funny and interesting event indeed, in the mini bath. Lovely and hot though once we had manouvered ourselves in.
Overall, price was fantastic, hosts were delightful and helpful. If you are looking for quirky, then this is it, with value for money thrown in too. This hotel is not for anyone who wants to go somewhere that looks like the last place or who wants lifts or 50 tv chanels.
We will absolutely be back and will recommend.

Room Tip: All are tranquil and colour themed.

This posada (which means rural inn) is very well located and very reasonably priced for the area, which is highly touristic. The inn is family run and Araceli herself goes out of her way to assure that all guests feel welcome. It is a beautifully decorated building and quiet and peaceful. Breakfast is worth the 3.50 Euros. Walk into town or enjoy easy access to main roads. Very easy parking, well worth it.

Room Tip: Ask to see a couple of rooms to choose one that suits you, if possible.
