We stayed here for a week booking only 5 days in advance but this was not a problem as it was low season and the hotel was around a quarter full. We booked via Expedia but in hindsight feel booking direct would have given us a far better deal.
The small hotel (only about 20 rooms) had been sympathetically restored with great attention to detail. There were plenty of quiet spaces/rooms to sit - the upper sun terrace with views of the mountains, the internal courtyard with quiet background music, landings with comfy sofas, poolside and the lounge/bar area. Breakfast and evening meal were served around the pool courtyard.
We did not eat there every evening but when we did the food was amazing, some of the best we have eaten anywhere and as others have commented deserving of a Michelin star. As well as being delicious with a modern twist on Canarian/ Mediterranean food it was presented very artistically. The waitress was charming and encouraged us to speak a little Spanish. All other staff too were exceptional especially the front desk who gave us information on local walks, even printing out information for us. Do make use of them as they have a wealth of knowledge.
We stayed in a duplex room and enjoyed the extra space but did feel it was quite dark as others have mentioned. On the plus side there was a view of the mountain from our bed through a skylight style window.
The slight disadvantages were problems parking especially at weekends or during fiestas (though staff would be more than happy to park you car for you), no complimentary bottled water and limited pool hours. However if we were to come back to Tenerife this is where we would stay without hesitation. Garachico is a lovely little seaside town with very few tourists other than locals apart from those coming by coach for the day to visit the lava pools.
